I fell in love with her ten times over right then.
Watching her be silly to get Benny’s attention was a shot right to the feels.
Benny listens to Laney, his attention going right to his mama, whom he absolutely adores.
Laney laughs. “Do what mama does. Clap clap clap, yay!” Laney claps her hands before throwing them in the air.
Benny tries to copy her, clapping way more than three times, but eventually throws his hands up in a fit of giggles. That's when the photographer takes the photo.
“Oh, this is perfect,” the photographer laughs.
I peek over to look at the screen. Benny is smiling bright, his big blue eyes lighting up, hands in the air with a toothy grin.
“Ugh!” Laney groans. “The cuteness overload is so damn strong right now.”
While Laney collects Benny, I order the biggest package they have.
“I want this framed and hung up,” Laney says, still holding Benny as we walk through the mall.
“It’s a good thing I got a digital copy, because I think everyone is gonna want one.”
“Smart thinking.” Laney nods.
Chuckling, I wrap my free arm around her shoulder while I push the empty stroller with the other hand. “I love you, Siren.”
“I love you too.” She smiles up at me, and I give her a kiss.
“You know, seeing you with Benny,” my voice grows deeper. “Seeing you being an amazing mother, it makes me want more.”
That was something I didn’t think I’d even think about any time soon. I love being a dad. Benny is my world. But with all the drama that came with Stacy, the idea of getting someoneelse pregnant before I was married and graduated from college terrified me to death.
Being in the NFL was going to be hard enough as it was. My plan was to have a nanny travel with us to watch Benny because there was no way I’d be able to leave him here with my dad and Melissa. I needed my son with me, wherever we went.
It was something I brought up with Laney. She said she wanted to go wherever I was, but it was something we would have to talk to the others about because it wasn’t only her life she had to think about.
I understood.
If Laney couldn’t travel with me, I wouldn’t force her. It wouldn’t change our relationship; she would still be mine. It would mean I’d just have to try to get placed with a team closer to home.
If I couldn’t, the idea of leaving Benny at home is different if it meant he was with Laney. That would be something I’m more comfortable with. Especially with Stacy out of the picture.
Even so, I’d much rather have both of them with me. The idea of leaving either of them for any amount of time doesn’t sit well with me.
“More?” she bites her lower lip, and fuck my cock twitches. “Really?”
“Mhhm,” I hum. “I want all the little Laney’s with you.”
“What about the others?” she huffs out a laugh. “I can’t only have your babies, Logan Cross.”
“True.” I brush my lips across hers. “But I want at least one. Two if you’d let me.”
“Babe, that’s at least five kids. Are you sure you can handle that? They might not all be like Benny.”
“Doesn’t matter.” I shrug. “As long as they’re half you, I don’t care.”
Her eyes grow glassy. “I really do love you, Logan Cross.”
“And I love you, Delaney Jones.”
