I want it all.

And I want it forever.

My hands fall from her head, and she pulls off my cock with one last suck. I look down and find her sitting back on her feet staring up at me with an expression on her face like I just did her the biggest favor in the world.

She smiles and rolls her lips in to lick them. “I liked that.”

“You did, did you?” I pant as I try to catch my breath, looking down at her past my half-hard cock still bobbing free. “Well, I’m glad, because I fucking loved it.”

Her smile swells as she stands and slides her arms inside my open shirt against my bare skin and presses her cheek to my heart. “I want to say that now we’re even from the plane, but I liked it too much. And I’ve never liked it.”

I press my lips to the top of her blonde hair. “I’m honored, baby. And there’s noevenwhen it comes to me or us.”

She nods against my skin. “This feels different. It doesn’t scare me, still in a way, it does. All I wanted was a distraction, but this is too easy. I feel like it could be ripped away in a heartbeat—like it’s not real.”

I put my fingers to her chin and force her to look up at me. I press my mouth to hers for a long slow kiss. When I finally break my lips from hers, I say, “It’s easy because it’s good. Better than good, baby. I’ve never had easy before, so I know the difference. Think about how much better it’ll be when there won’t be the threat of bullets flying and double-crossing friends appearing from the dead.”

She pulls her face from my hold and tightens her embrace like she can’t get close enough. My bare cock is still sandwiched between us. “It feels like that will never happen.”

“It’ll happen,” I promise.

She sighs. “Devon, what’s in the box?”

My hand stroking her back stills. She senses the difference and pulls away far enough to look up at me through a frown.

I sigh. “It’s my entire case on Turner. There was no way I could copy the electronic files over without them knowing, but I did manage to take every paper file I could. I made copies. My sister has a set and so does my dad. I knew something wasn’t right when my name was exposed to the media. Little did I know how right I was, and it’s worse than I ever imagined.”

Her voice dips to a whisper and feels like a balm to my tortured soul. “I’m sorry, Devon. You mourned your friend once when you thought he died. Now you’re wounded in a whole other way. You were betrayed by someone you loved, and you lost your career in the process.”

For the first time since I heard Hugh’s voice on that line, anger replaces the shock I haven’t been able to get past. It simmers within me, getting hotter and hotter with every hour. “I’m past caring about my career. My mind is set on revenge. I’ve never wanted anything more.”

A sad smile touches her lips. “It will be satisfying for both of us. I’ve never wanted anything more ... other than maybe you.”

“You and revenge,” I mutter before kissing her one last time. “Both beautiful.”

CHAPTER TWENTY-NINE

THAT’S A GOOD NAME

Devon

Iglance over at Harlow. She’s out cold and sprawled over the middle of the bed. The covers are pulled down so far, the swell of her ass peeks out at me.

After our time in my office last night, I managed to get her to the room in one piece. We ordered food, but not too much, ate a quick dinner before I pulled her into the shower, where I proved I can’t get enough of Harlow Madison. But this time the sex wasn’t quick or hard and didn’t have the edge of angst built in with pilots on the other side of the door.

It was slow, it was hot, and I savored every inch of her before we passed out.

The last thing I want to do is leave her naked in my bed, but this is one call I can’t miss.

I grab my vibrating cell from the nightstand, pull on a pair of sweatpants that were in a heap on the floor, and silently shut the bedroom door behind me as I make my way through the dark suite so I don’t wake my sleeping beauty.

“You seem to forget I’m three hours earlier than you,” I bite in lieu of a greeting.

“Yet you answered, because when you see my mug come across your screen, you can’t help yourself. You love me asmuch as the next gent. Good morning, by the way, you bright, fucking ray of sunshine, you.”

“To this day, I wonder what my sister sees in you.” I rub my eyes and clear my groggy throat. “What information were you able to drum up? Because you’d better not be dragging me out of bed at this time for anything other than cold, hard intelligence.”

“You are one demanding fucker, but I shouldn’t be surprised. You’re a Donnelly. I should know, I married one. God, I love that woman more every day.”
