“Almost?”

“I didn’t.”

“You didn’t come or scream that person’s name?”

“Neither.” He shakes his head where it rests on the back cushion and blows a breath out from his nose. “Can we talk about something else now?”

“How?”

He lifts his head. “How what?”

“How’d you stop from coming and calling out the other girl’s name? It was a girl, right?”

“Yes!” he hisses. “And I pulled back from Caitlyn when I realized what I was about to do, ceasing the act.”

“Oh. That must have been hard. Did she know why you stopped? I mean, she had to have wondered what happened.”

He huffs and drops his head on the couch again. “She wondered. We talked, and I cleared things up.”

“You told her you were fantasizing about someone else?”

“No. I told her dating her was a mistake because she works for me—us.”

“So…who is this person you were so turned on by? A celebrity?”

“No.”

“Your ex?” I walk my fingers up his roped abs.

He takes my wrist, then the other, and pins them behind my back. His body is flush with mine, my breasts pressed against his hard chest. “If you must know, it was you. You were in my head. You were on your knees. You were driving me wild.” He sucks on my bottom lip.

I feel it between my legs. “Me?” I murmur as much as I can. “Why was it me?”

“Because…” He kisses the corner of my mouth. “I’ve wanted you for that long.” He kisses under my ear. “Since I saw you walk in from the sliding glass door at Noah’s. Hell, since you were a teenager.” He kisses the crook of my neck. “You will always be the most beautiful girl in the world to me.”

My body hums with desire while my heart flutters with affection. The blending of the two sensations is new to me. I’m floating, light as air. Grayson affects me in so many different ways. The important part is that I am affected.

BA. Braylee After only felt pain and sadness. She closed herself off and avoided emotions as much as possible. But there’s a new me. Braylee After Grayson. BAG. Maybe I’ll shorten it to BG.

BG knows about pushing boundaries and accepting herself. She knows scars don’t make a person unlovable or undesirable. Beauty truly is in the eyes of the beholder. She knows her body better, what it can do, and the earth-shattering pleasure an orgasm can bring. Her life is fulfilled in new ways, even though it’s still lacking in others. BG has the chance to grow and learn and find happiness in a way she’s never known.

“Thank you,” I whisper to Grayson as he slides his hands under my shirt and up my back.

“For what?” He lifts his head from my neck and kisses my lips.

“You’ve helped me in ways you can’t imagine. I’m better because of you. No matter how short-lived this is between us, I won’t regret it.”

“You’re talking like it's already over.”

“Maybe it should be. If you break your rules, you might regret it, and right now we’re in a good place. You know how I like to end things on a happy note.”

Grayson

She wants to end things? Now, while my dick is about to burst from my zipper? I just told her how beautiful she is to me. What girl dumps a guy after he spouts the most romantic words he’s ever said to anyone?

Besides, I was supposed to be the one ending things. I had every intention of letting go so she can find a man worthy of her. A man with staying power. Then she climbed onto my lap and pushed me in the way she does, getting me to tell her the ugly truth about what happened with Caitlyn.
