She reads the message, then smiles up at me. “They don’t want dessert. They’re going to the lake. I’m starting to think that’s the hook up spot on this property. I mean, you took me there.”

I crowd her slight frame and back her against the counter, my hands at her waist. “I sure did.” I devour her sweet lips in a sensual kiss.

She throws her arms around my neck without hesitation and pulls me closer until our bodies are flush. I could spend the rest of my life kissing and tasting her. Nothing compares.

“You’re staying with me in my room.” I lift her onto the counter and wedge myself between her thighs.

“Okay,” she murmurs against my mouth.

“Okay?” I pull back with surprise. “I expected resistance.”

“If your parents were here, I’d stay in the guest suite with Sadie out of respect.”

“My parents know how I feel about you, and they respect my wishes and desires.”

“And I’m part of those?” She kisses my neck.

I’m hard at once. “Not part.All. You are all my wishes and desires.”

“Good.” The sexy glint in her eyes calls to me on a primal level. I want to tear off her clothes and take her right here, but I won’t risk anyone walking in on us. She wouldn’t like that, and I don’t want anyone seeing what’s for my eyes only.

I swoop her up into my arms. She giggles and locks her legs around my waist. I kiss her for most of the way to my room, stopping only to climb the stairs so we don’t fall. She giggles multiple times along the way. It doesn’t diminish her desire in the slightest. The moment I break through the bedroom door, she unbuttons my shirt and runs her hands down my back and across my chest.

She pinches my nipple with a playful giggle.

I set her on the bed on her knees and cup her cheeks. Fuck. I love this woman. “Marry me.”

I didn’t plan to ask that. I planned to ask her once I had the ring.

She stiffens, her cobalt eyes wide, her lips parted with shock. “Why?”

I chuckle. “Why? Everleigh, you are everything to me. I can’t imagine my life without you in it. I don’t want to. Before you, I was lost, drifting. You give my life purpose. You make me happy. I’ve never known anyone as strong, caring, and beautiful as you. If you’ll let me, I’ll spend the rest of my life worshiping you the way you deserve.”

She sucks in an uneven breath, and tears fill her eyes.

“Don’t be afraid. I know you’re scared. I know this is fast for you, too. I’m not saying we have to get married right away. We can stay engaged for as long as you want, but I want to know you’re mine. I want the world to know, and I want the promise of forever with you.”

“Yes,” she blurts, to my astonishment. “Yes.”

My heart swells with relief and sheer happiness. “Does that mean you love me?”

She laughs through her tears. “Yes. I love you—more than I thought possible. I don’t deserve yo—”

I cut off her words with a kiss. “No, Everleigh.I’mthe one who doesn’t deserve you. But I have you somehow, and I’m never giving you up.”

She slips her arms around my neck, forcing my hands from her cheeks, and kisses me with open passion in a way she never has before.

Her walls are down, finally. I have her and she has me. Nothing will ever change that.

I strip her of her dress and lose myself in her body as I make passionate love to the only woman who’s ever claimed my heart.

Daireand I dress for work today. He tried to convince me to stay at the estate and hang out with Sadie, but I told him I’ve never had this much time off before and I need to work.

For the last three days, Sadie, Easton, and I have hung by the pool, swimming, and barbecuing while Daire works until about 3:00 p.m., then joins us.
