“We can shower later,” Sebastian throws out, “because we’ll be fucking again for sure.”

We will? Excitement whirls through me. Chill, girl. Play hard to get for once. “What makes you so certain?”

“I’m sleeping in here now. I won’t be able to keep my hands off you. Hell, I can’t now.” He turns the water on in the other sink and washes his face. I wash the sweat from my body with a towel and Sebastian does the same. I grab the blow dryer to dry myself off faster and catch Sebastian staring at my naked body. His nostrils flare and he shakes his head.

“Fucking perfect. I have to get out of here.”

I don’t try to stop him. If I can screw his memories back, I will and won’t be sorry about it at all.

My stomach cramps as I’m pulling up my pants. Talk about bad timing. I can’t get my period now. How will Sebastian and I keep having sex? Would he care if I were bleeding? I might.

It’s a good sign that I’m cramping and not pregnant from that one time in France when we did it without protection. Back when life was normal-ish.

It seems so long ago now. How would he be acting if I were pregnant? Would he be trying harder to remember me?Don’t go there, I tell myself. It won’t change the present.

I finish dressing and make my hair look decent before racing down the stairs.

Sebastian

I stand by the kitchen island, glancing back and forth from Nathan and Riley.

“I can’t believe we’re here together. Last I remember, we were living in your mom’s house in Winter Park,” I say to Nathan. “And you”—I direct to Riley—“were tall and skinny. Now you’re almost as built as Nathan.”

“I don’t know about that, but I’m definitely bigger than I was in college.”

“Well, I’m not as big as I was back then.” Nathan frowns. “That physique is hard to keep up when you work full time.”

“Awe.” Kensie pats his chest. “I think you’re the perfect size.” She kisses him.

He stands taller with a smirk, his arm around her. He can’t be near her without touching her.

“I wish Nova could have come, but she’s buried with work, launching her new clothing line.”

“I love her designs,” Kensie says.

Nathan lifts his chin in my direction. “Do you even know who she is? You were never big on social media.”

“I couldn’t be, for obvious reasons,” I say.

“But you also didn’t like it.”

“I still don’t, but I know who she is.”

“Xavier showed you, didn’t he?” Nathan teases.

My answer is a smirk.

Riley laughs. “Same old Sebastian. I’ve missed you, man.” He gives me a bro hug, then glances around. “I thought Ainsley was here.”

“She is.”

As if on cue, she enters the kitchen, her wavy hair tamer—I prefer it a mess—her eyes bright, and her skin glowing. Damn, she wears an orgasm well.

She surveys the kitchen, taking everyone in. Her gaze stops on Riley. They lock eyes and something passes between them. Nothing sexual, but a connection, no less. It draws a growl to my throat for reasons I can’t explain. I tamp it down before a sound escapes and watch as she approaches him, her arms open to give him a warm, slightly too long hug.

“I wasn’t sure I’d ever see you again.”
