“What do you mean?” I asked, running my hands up the outside of her thighs and stopping at her hips. Each touch of my palms against her skin felt like a betrayal. I was so close to having Stefany’s trust, and quite possibly her heart, that I could taste it.

Last night had changed so much between us, and this morning, having her wake up in my apartment, cooking her breakfast and sitting here knowing she was still there waiting for me to come home felt right.

She was all I could think about, the only girl I wanted, and acting like this with her mother was wrong. Even if Stefany did know this was all fake.

Emilia’s eyes flared, and she licked her lips. Pushing off the desk, she slid onto my lap, grinding herself against me as she leaned forward, pressing her breasts into my chest. My hands dropped to my sides, unwilling to touch her anymore and unintentionally provoke her to go further.

This wasn’t like Stefany straddling me a few days ago, taking what she needed from me so beautifully it consumed me. Emilia didn’t need an invitation to push the boundaries of ourprofessionalrelationship, and I wouldn’t put it past her to try to seduce me with some sick lap dance.

Moving closer than I thought was possible, she brought her mouth to my ear, dragging her tongue along the shell, and whispered, “I’ve found Nathanial.”

I stiffened at the mention of Stefany’s nephew. The sole reason this whole thing started, the reason behind her abduction, her leg wound, me fucking punching her and breaking her ribs.

Biting the inside of my cheek until I tasted blood, I nuzzled my nose against her neck, needing to get more information out of her.

Emilia was a sick twisted bitch, who left her young children in the hands of a man who abused them, a half-brother who groomed and impregnated a minor, and now all she wanted was an heir to manipulate.

“How?” I murmured. Brushing my lips as lightly as possible down the column of her throat, she groaned and bucked her hips against me. Rolling them, she made a little mewing sound.

If my dick hadn’t been trying to climb back up and into my body before, it definitely was now.

“My private investigators found him. Soon, we will be reunited, and he will be where he was always meant to be.”

Another knock on my door had me pushing Emilia out of my lap, jumping to my feet, and sprinting for it. I didn’t need anyone barging inside and seeing me in a compromised position with her.

Pulling it open, my PA, Melissa, opened her mouth to speak, but quickly closed it when her eyes darted behind me and looked at Emilia, her face flushing pink.

“Sorry to interrupt, sir,” she said, and I turned to Emilia, dreading to see what made Melissa blush. Thankfully, she looked like the complete image of innocence, as if she wasn’t straddling me less than thirty seconds ago.

“It’s okay, Mel,” I said, returning my attention to the petite woman in the hallway. “What’s up?”

“There’s an issue in one of the labs in area eight.” Darting her eyes behind me again, I felt Emilia reach my back and place her hand on my arm.

“Can Alton deal with it?” I asked.

“It’s okay. I was just leaving, Mr. Weston,” Emilia purred, sliding beside me and reaching up to the knot of my tie, straightening it, then running her hand down the length of it. “I will see you soon.”

She paused, wrapping her hand behind my back and gliding it to my ass. I couldn’t help the involuntary flex of my butt cheeks as she squeezed the muscle and smirked. The woman repulsed me, and it was an automatic reflex whenever she touched me. One she luckily mistook for arousal.

Emilia whispered in my ear, leaning on her tiptoes. “And we can celebrate properly. All night long.”

I heard Melissa splutter as she took in the exchange between Emilia and me, and I mentally cursed the woman. Emilia smiled at Melissa as she walked past the girl who was now frantically looking around, walking in a jittery circle as she tried and failed to recover from watching her boss get felt up.

“Melissa,” I called once Emilia was safely out of earshot.

“Yeah–yes, Sir?” she stuttered, the light shade of pink on her cheeks deepening to red.

“What you saw,” I began, loosening the tie Emilia had tightened, “she was unprofessional, and I apologise. I have a girlfriend, and it’s sort of new, so your discretion would be appreciated.”

“The girl from the picnic?” she asked, then smacked her hand over her mouth. I cocked my head and raised an eyebrow. When you think a person’s face couldn’t get any redder, Melissa’s began emanating enough heat to warm the entire office. Sheepishly, she said, “Office gossip.”

I smiled, knowing that Stefany was the main topic of discussion the entire week after the picnic. My relationship status was weirdly obsessed over by the HR department, and meeting Stefany, well, she left an impression on everyone.

Walking back to my office, Melissa said, “Um, sir? The lab issue?”

Shit.

“Get Alton or Victor to sort it out. Tell them I asked them.” Speaking loudly, I dashed to my desk, grabbed my phone and briefcase, and returned to the open door. “I’ve got a family emergency, and I need to leave now. If you have any issues, get them to call me.”
