She gapes. “Teddy, isn’t this really expensive?”
I wink and place my hand on the small of her back, gently nudging her to the door. “Nah, don’t worry about it. I know someone who works here.”
The hostess shows us to our table and hands us our menus. Another waiter appears, taking our food and drink orders, and then we’re left alone.
“How bad do you think your mom’s going to flip when you get home?”
Ana shrugs, taking a sip of water. “I don’t care. I was going to tell her about Arizona, Phoenix… you tonight anyway, so I guess you coming to the gala means there’s one less thing I need to tell her.”
“And what if she cuts you off or whatever rich folk do whenever someone angers them?”
She laughs. “Rich folk?”
“Yeah, I watch movies. The rich characters always hold their vast fortunes over one another to get them to do what they want.”
“You’re an idiot,” she says, eyes widening as her starter is placed in front of her.
“See, you’re basically proving my point.” I jab my spoon at her plate before dipping it back into my cauliflower soup—not something I’d usually order, but it’s tasty as fuck. “Who orders smoked eel and enjoys it?”
She lifts a forkful into her mouth and hums around it. I shift in my seat, my spoon forgotten, halfway to my mouth as her eyes flutter shut and she licks her lips painfully slowly. I’m getting hard just watching her. I want to tell her to get under this table and lick up my cock with that dirty little tongue of hers and make me come before the main course is served.
“Ana,” I growl, my eyes narrowed on her mouth.
She opens her eyes and smirks, sucking her plump lips between her teeth. Oh, she knows what she’s doing, the little tease. I love how relaxed and confident she’s gotten since being with me. I’ve coaxed out a naughty vixen, and she is all mine.
Thankfully, the rest of the meal isn’t as uncomfortable for me as trying to make eating burgers look sexy. Getting up from the table, I stop by her side and press a kiss on her cheek.
“I’ll be right back, okay? I’ve got a surprise for you.”
She groans. “Please don’t say it’s a cake, and all the waiters come out and sing ‘Happy Birthday.’I really hate that.”
I smirk and walk toward the restroom, tugging my phone from my pocket.
No, Ana Banana, it’s so much better than that.
When I get back to the table, our empty plates have been cleared, and our glasses are topped up with fresh water. Ana smiles warmly as I sit down, and I slide my chair closer to hers, resting my hand on her thigh. She swivels on her chair and kisses me.
“Thank you for tonight,” she whispers, her eyes hooded as she flicks her gaze down to my mouth. “For everything, really. You’ve made today better than I could have imagined, Teddy.”
She presses forward again, nipping at my bottom lip as I let her control the kiss. Her tongue swipes over mine, just as a throat clears.
“Gross, dude. That’s my sister.”
Ana’s back snaps ramrod straight as she blinks at her brother.
“Skip?”
“Hey, kiddo.”
She leaps out of her chair so quickly that the thing topples back, crashing on the ground. Her head is buried in Skip’s chest, her arms clinging to him so tight it must hurt. He rests his cheek on the top of Ana’s head, his hand patting her back soothingly as her shoulders bounce. Shit, is she… crying? Fuck, did I do the wrong thing?
“Ana?” I say, slowly standing and edging closer to the siblings. “Are you okay?”
Ana spins and engulfs me, her wet face brushing against my neck as she sobs into me.
“Thank you, Teddy. Thank you so much.”
I thread my fingers into Ana’s hair and hold her until she stops crying. She peels herself away, swiping under her eyes.
