That and meeting his mother.
“I’m glad we’ve got the night here,” she said.
“Me too. Did you have plans?”
She dipped her head down while she ate, the heat traveling up her neck.
She didn’t know why she was feeling like this. It’s not as if they hadn’t had sex yet.
They even fooled around like teens on the couch. She didn’t know the last time she’d had so much fun with sex.
With any luck tonight would be more of the same.
“I thought we could watch some movies and then count the ball down before the new year. Maybe have some X-rated fun.”
“That part is a given,” he said, winking.
She laughed. “Which part?”
“All of it. How X-rated are we going?”
It was hard to chew. And when she thought she could swallow, it didn’t want to go down either.
She sipped her wine so she didn’t choke. “What did you have in mind?”
“Nothing outlandish,” he said. “Unless you wanted it?”
She looked at his face, saw the big grin. He was eating this up. Even embarrassing her.
“I’m not into pain or bondage.”
“Nope,” he said. “Neither am I. But I wouldn’t mind getting a marvelous view of your ass on the floor in front of the fire.”
Good Lord. Hearing the words describing what she wanted to do tonight was almost too much.
How could he have thought the same as her?
And imagining it and talking about it were two different things.
Somehow they got through their dinner, the two of them cleaning up together.
Their wine glasses were filled again, the bottle empty at this point. They were small glasses, the bottle not that big. It was more the romance of it all.
She should have lit candles too.
Oh well.
They moved to the living room, turned the fireplace on, the lights dimmed.
Once they set down their glasses, she turned and put her arms around his neck. “I’d like to get to the X-rated part of the night before the movies. Unless you wanted X-rated movies.”
He laughed. “Do you watch porn, Alana?”
Her entire body swamped with heat. It was the fireplace.
Yeah, no. It was Brennan and his words, along with his hands grabbing her ass and pulling her tight to his body.
“I don’t, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t in the past.”
