"Are you happy?" she asks softly, a hint of uncertainty in her voice.
In answer, I gather her against me, burying my face in her hair as emotion overwhelms words. When I finally find my voice, it emerges rough with feeling.
"Happier than I knew was possible," I confess. "Terrified too."
She laughs softly, the sound vibrating against my chest. "That makes two of us."
