“Don’t worry. I’m pretty sure it’s on YouTube by now. You can see my entire ridiculous, rambling speech.” Lily’s eyes grow wide suddenly. I can’t keep up with what emotion she’s throwing at me this time.

“In a week? Did you tell Mom? She’s going to have a shit fit.”

“You always know how to turn a phrase. Yes, I told her and yes, she’s losing her mind.”

“Don’t worry about that. I’ll go over tomorrow so we can start work.” She throws her arms around me again before announcing to the whole coffee shop. “My brother and I are getting married!”

“Not to each other,” I assure everyone when we get odd looks. “Completely non-related people.” I nod, looking around. My God, our friends are right. The Rhetts are totally nuts.

“We could just elope,” I say lying exhausted in bed that night to Maggie.

“We can survive this week. As long as you end each day like you just did.” I grin over at her. We had celebrated like crazy when we finally got home. On her back, on her knees, on me.

“I think I can agree to that. You drive a hard bargain, Miss Emerson. I might need to invest in an oxygen tank for myself though,” I say, still trying to catch my breath. She laughs, shaking her head.

“Well, I have to bump up my negotiation skills now that I’m marrying an assistant district attorney. You are going to be so brilliant, counselor. Are you sure we don’t need to live closer to the courthouse?”

“This is your home, I would never ask you to leave it. I don’t mind the drive.” She rolls over to lay her head on my chest. Running my hand lazily down her back, I try to wrap my head around the fact that this is my life now. Everything about it is perfect.

“I would live anywhere, as long as you’re there,” Maggie whispers to me. Rolling her over, I lower my body over her, careful not to crush her underneath me. As I spread her legs, slowly entering her, I feel my heart sigh. I’m finally home.

Ican barely sit still in the seat next to Colin as I strain to catch my first glimpse out the window. I can hear him chuckle behind me. In less than an hour, I will officially be stepping foot in England!

Colin surprised me with tickets for our honeymoon. We waited two weeks for school to officially end for the summer before leaving. I’ve been married to Colin Rhett for two weeks and it still feels so surreal.

The wedding went off without too many hitches. His mother found a beautiful garden for the ceremony with our small reception in the wonderful carriage house attached to it.

Colin spent the week chasing around behind her with his checkbook in hand. His dad had been speechless when I asked him to walk me down the aisle. He was the closest thing I had ever had to a father, so he was the only choice I would even consider.

We both wrote our own vows, but nothing could top his proposal in the middle of the high school hallway. If I live to be a hundred, I’ll remember every word he said. Just in case I don’t, it was posted to YouTube about five minutes after it happened.

Everyone was there. Instead of trying to find matching bridesmaid dresses, I simply chose a color for my friends to use when picking out their own dresses. Mrs. Rhett, who I’ve been instructed to call Katherine now, managed to help me find the perfect wedding dress.

Even Mr. Winters, Colin’s new boss, made an appearance. He had been gracious enough to let Colin push his starting date back a month for our honeymoon. The best part of the entire event, however, was seeing Colin’s face when I started down the aisle. He was so incredibly handsome in his tux waiting for me, it felt like a dream.

If anyone had told me seven years ago I was going to marry the charming man with the movie star looks, I would have thought they were crazy. But here I am, sitting next to my husband. My husband. Those are the two most perfect words in the world.

“Beautiful, you’re going to vibrate right out of that seat.” He’s teasing me but I don’t care. I’m going to England! “We have three days in London. What do you want to do first?” he asks, looking over my shoulder.

“Everything!” I whisper. Sliding his hand around my neck, he pulls me in for a kiss. I forget all about where I am when his kiss deepens, his tongue sliding into my mouth to explore every inch. When a moan slips out of me, he pulls back with a grin.

“I think you're missing London, Mrs. Rhett.” My head snaps around in time to get my first glimpse. I’ve spent most of the flight pouring through the guidebooks Colin bought for me. “Remember, I’ve got theatre tickets for two evenings while we’re here.”

“Can we do the London Eye on the other night?”

“Anything you want to do. We’re booked in at The Savoy.” I spin around in my seat, grabbing Colin’s face, pulling him into another kiss. When I finally turn him loose, he looks a little like a deer in the headlights.

“An occasional warning might be nice, but I’ll take it,” he says. I laugh, turning back to the window. I plan on jumping on this man as soon as we get to our room and riding him like a crazed cowgirl. Or that was the plan anyway. We’ve been standing at the luggage carousel a while now.

“Sweetie, I don’t think they’re going to show up at this point,” Colin says, taking my hand, pulling me toward the lost luggage counter. Our suitcases made it onto the conveyor belt in Dallas, but somehow they didn’t survive the layover in New York.

He fills out all of the paperwork, turning his charm on the harassed-looking woman behind the counter. She promises to do everything to find our luggage. The way she looks at my husband leaves me with no doubt she will.

“It’ll be fine. I’m sure they’ll show up by tonight. It’ll just give us a good excuse to go to Harrods.” He smiles down at me as we start for the taxi stand.
