I groan. “Can we not use the wordseducedwhen we’re talking about my brothers?”
Millie and Hannah break into matching cackles. One would think the two of them would understand my plight, considering Hannah married Millie’s twin and the girls are talking about how hot Hannah’s stepbrother is, but apparently they’re all delinquents.
When my phone lights up, I lunge for it, thankful for the distraction.
Cat: I know we planned to meet tomorrow night, but I need you tonight.
I roll my eyes. She’s so dramatic.
Me: You NEED me?
Cat: I have a surprise, and you are going to want to be available. PLEASE be available!
“Why are you smiling?” Hannah picks up a cracker, tops it with a slice of cheese, and pops it into her mouth.
I look up, only to realize every eye is focused on me again, and grimace. “A friend asked me to meet her tonight.”
“Sounds scandalous,” Sara jokes, her cheeks flushed from the wine.
I roll my eyes. “It’s where she wants to meet that’s the issue. Her brother-in-law owns an exclusive club, and I’m not sure how I feel about going.”
Lennox tilts her head, her expression suddenly shrewd. “What kind of club?”
I shrug. “It’s called Allure.”
“Oh mygod,” Hannah squeals. “That’s a sex club. I’ve always wanted to go to a sex club.”
“It’s awhatclub?” Liv’s eyes go wide. “Doesn’t Hayden Hanson own that?”
Ah, fuck. Hayden Hanson. As in Garreth’s twin brother. Of course he’s friends with Beckett. Surely he’s mentioned the nature of the place. Shit. If not, I may have just caused a fight.
But there’s no way my brother has been there without his wife. Although he was single for a long, long—nope. I’m not going there.
So I nod and leave it at that.
Liv bursts into laughter. “Oh my god, your brother is dead. He tried to convince me to go last month, but he failed to mention that specific detail.”
Millie hums. “I don’t know. This place looks hot.” She holds up her phone. There’s a graphic of a golden lock in the middle, and the rest of the screen is black. “I wonder what the password is to get in. Maybe when I’m not preggo, I’ll convince Gavin to take me.”
I glare at her. “Rules, Mills. Follow the damn rules.”
She gives me a salacious smile. “But I’m so good at breaking them.”
“Well, I’m not pregnant. I want to go.” Lennox launches herself off one couch and plops down beside Millie on the other. She buries her face in her device, and ten seconds later, she pops up and crows, “Got it!”
“The password? How the hell did you do that so quickly?” Ava muses.
Lennox flips her hair over her shoulder. “Perks of being the Kennedy princess.”
Her family has more connections than even ours, and that’s saying something.
“So the gimmick here is that when women walk in, they’re given a card to use when they choose who they interact with. Like a man literally can’t approach them. It’s all about women being in control. This is so fucking hot.” She looks up, her pupils blown wide. “If you don’t go, I’ll kill you.”
“We’re having a girls’ night,” I remind her lamely.
Hannah claps, startling the babies. “Fine. Girls’ night is over.”
“Stop,” I whine. “Seriously, I don’t want to go.”
