“Thanks,” he murmured. He nodded to the door, dismissing them.
Devin gathered her computer and followed Linkin out of the room.
“What’s going on?” Athena asked.
He turned her in front of him and wrapped his arms around her waist.
“Not far from here, in the desert, is my true home. I didn’t want to stay there until I found my mate,” he replied. He bent down and pressed a kiss to her lips.
“Is that so?” she responded, leaning into him.
Her soft, supple body fit him perfectly. His cock was awakening. Athena slid her small hands up his chest and entwined them together at the base of his neck.
“Yes. It is where I know you will be the safest.”
“Safe from whom?” she asked, pulling back. Her eyes narrowed on him.
“From the hunters. Once word gets out that I have you by my side, you will become a target, and I refuse to lose you.”
A shiver passed through her body. He squeezed her tighter to him. He didn’t even want to think of what would happen if he were to lose her.
A red veil slid over his eyes, clouding his vision.
He’d go crazy.
No human would be safe if they took her from him.
He would wreak havoc on those who would dare touch his little siren.
“Sorin…”
Her breathless whisper of his name broke through his thoughts.
“Yes, my siren.” He blinked, clearing his vision, and focused on her.
“I’m not sure what is going on, but just promise me one thing.” She thrust her fingers into the hair at the nape of his neck.
A tremor snuck its way through his body. He pushed his straining cock against her stomach, eliciting a gasp from her.
“Anything, Athena. Just say the word,” he rasped. Her turned her and stalked forward, forcing her to walk backwards until she bumped into his desk.
He opened the ties of the robe and let loose a growl.
His mate was naked.
Her brown beaded nipples begged for his tongue. He lifted her onto the desk, uncaring of items hitting the floor.
“You’ll come back to me.”
He paused and looked at her. He gently gripped her face in his large hands and brought his face within a hair’s breadth from hers.
Sorin refused to believe fate would be so cruel as to put her in his life only to separate the two of them.
“Nothing will ever keep me from you.”
Athena walked through the casino with a new sway in her hips. After the other vampires had left his suite, he’d taken her on his desk with such passion that the soreness was still there between her legs.
He was large man everywhere, and she didn’t mind the ache.
