Epilogue

“No running in the house!” Sorin tried to keep his voice firm, but the small twin figures jogging ahead of him were not listening to him. “Issa! Lorenz!”

They paused and turned their chubby faces to him with large grins. The two-year-old twins had him wrapped around their little fingers.

And they knew it.

Sorin’s vampiric heart raced.

He’d discovered that not only did his heart beat for his wife, but it did for their two small children, too.

“Such a strong vampire leader you are,” a husky voice sounded behind him.

Sorin turned to find his mate standing behind him. Her brown skin glowed just as bright as her smile. His gaze dropped down to her perfectly rounded belly.

Baby number three was due any day now.

They had conceived the twins the day after Athena had first consumed his blood. Fate hadn’t wasted any time allowing the Ludovici clan to expand.

“I just don’t get it.” He reached for his woman and brought her close to his side, wrapping an arm around her. “I can make the toughest of vampire warriors cringe, but my own two children don’t even bat an eye at me when I yell.” He shook his head.

Athena’s musical laughter filled the air. “You don’t offer your men piggy back rides, do you?”

Two small bodies crashed into his legs. He glanced down and saw twin grins smiling up at him. Issa, a true daddy’s girl, reached her arms up for him.

“Up.” She waved her fingers to him, impatiently waiting.

He reached down and picked her up. She smiled at him, showcasing her small fangs.

“What are we going to do with you two?” Athena asked with a grin. She held their son, Lorenz, in her arms. A true momma’s boy, he snuggled into her embrace.

“Come, my siren. We must go meet with the council.” He waved his arm forward, motioning for her to walk alongside him.

“It’s time for our monthly meeting already? Seems like we just met with them,” she muttered, falling in line next to him.

They walked down the great hallway toward the council room.

Athena had taken to the world of vampires. The clan was in love with her. She was patient, kind, and loving to all members. She was the perfect mate for him.

In her new position, it meant that she didn’t have to perform anymore, but singing was in her blood. She still sang at the casino once a month as a feature singer. Their daughter, Issa, was already taking after her mother. The little vampiress loved to sing and dance.

Athena now put her talent to use by providing singing lessons to young children in the community. She’d opened the Ludovici School of Music that currently had a waiting list for entrance.

He would never have imagined he would finally have found his bride and began filling the Stronghold with the future Ludovici clan leaders.

Being the oldest by two minutes, Lorenz would one day lead their clan. Issa would make a fine clanswoman as well. Even at the young age of two, they both were intelligent and witty.

“Remind me later to call Pam. She should be in London by now,” Athena announced.

Sorin had helped his wife’s best friend get a dream job over in one of the most prestigious museums in London. She would be able to travel the world while also helping Sorin find beautiful artworks to put in his casino.

Now that he had accepted his full responsibility of clan leader, he didn’t have as much time as he had before.

His plate was full and, looking down at the little vampire in his arms, he wouldn’t have it any other way.

Athena paused at the door and glanced up at him. Together as a family, they would meet with the council.

“Mrs. Ludovici,” he murmured. He reached out a hand and ran it along her cheek.
