“And you are sure she’s the one?” Linkin asked.

“I never thought I would stumble upon my bride. I’ve searched a lifetime for her, and to think she just waltzed into the casino and applied for a job.” Sorin snorted.

His gaze took in the establishment. The atmosphere was dark with soft electric lights, and music filled the air. Patrons were scattered around in their private booths.

“Here you go.” The waitress reappeared.

Sorin watched her sit two goblets on the counter. He reached in his pocket and grabbed his wallet.

“No payment. It’s on the house.”

He nodded to her and put his wallet back. He reached for the blood, and the scent of thick copper fluid reached his nostrils.

Grabbing the goblet, he turned to Linkin and tipped it to his friend before taking a healthy sip.

He immediately felt the effects of the blood.

The fog in his head cleared up.

A rush of adrenaline coursed through his veins.

He tossed back the drink and finished off the blood before slamming it down on the counter.

“Would you like anything else?” the waitress asked. Her eyes flickered to Linkin. She bit her lip, and Sorin held back a roll of his eyes.

Linkin narrowed his on the female and leaned on the counter with his lips curled up in the corner.

“I’ll be back.” Sorin stood and walked through the club and headed toward the back offices. He wanted to speak to the manager to get answers about the staked vampire and the missing one.
