Chapter Fourteen
“ETA is about five minutes. We are going to leave the trucks a little ways away,” Sorin announced to the men in the SUV with him.
Tonight, they would wage war on the hunters. The city of Las Vegas would soon be returned to the way it was. Vampires should not be in fear of going to the feeding clubs.
This would be the night they’d take back their town.
Deuce drove the vehicle with Taos, Queen, and Joris in the back. Linkin was in the truck following them with the other men that made up their team.
He glanced behind him and was met with the fierce gazes of his men.
They were decked out with enough weapons to outfit a militia, but it would only been eleven vampires on this hunt.
Deuce turned off the headlights and pulled the truck off the road. He drove along a path they had picked up on satellite photos of the area.
The truck drew to a halt before Deuce cut the engine. Under the cover of night, the humans wouldn’t see them coming. They were about two miles from their destination. The wilderness area was sparsely vegetated. There were no trees or bushes to hide behind.
The night would be their cover.
Sorin and his men could move faster than the eye could keep up and would eat up the two-mile distance within minutes.
Once they drew near the human compound, Linkin would be able to dismantle their archaic security system.
They exited the vehicle and met Linkin and the other warriors, Jacob, Ciro, Arad, Gale, and Bjorn.
“Tonight, vampires will take back our city,” Sorin began, turning around in the circle of his warriors.
The men around him nodded.
It felt good to be leading his own team again. His future was lining up just as it should have.
He’d finally found his bride.
Now it was time to ensure that the world would be safe for all vampires.
Once Athena took his blood, she’d be able to carry his seed.
Just thinking of little the pitter-patter of feet running through their home had him ready to defend the entire vampire nation.
His and Athena’s children would rule the Las Vegas clan.
While he’d traveled the world, he’d been the consult helping vampire clan leaders.
Yes, he’d been helping his people, but there was nothing better than leading his own clansmen.
“This is sanctioned by the council. We have full rein to do what we must. Let’s show these humans we are vampires.”
Growls permeated the air.
“Sync up your communicators,” Linkin said, stepping into the circle.
Sorin pulled his device from his pocket and slid it into his ear. Flipping the switch, he would be able to communicate with the others.
He, just like the other vampires around him, was outfitted with enough weapons. For them, bullets and knives were not deadly like they were for the humans.
There were only few ways to kill a vampire.
Stake through the heart, decapitation, and sunlight.
