Hegna withdrew her fangs. Stormey shivered at the move. She licked the area which was just as erotic as if Hegna were licking her between her legs. Once she was satisfied with what she saw on Stormey’s neck, Hegna lifted her eyes to her.
The sounds and music of the club were ignored as they stared at each other. Stormey only wanted to be with Hegna and understood life with a vampire was much different than a human. She’d only been inside the club for minutes and had seen open feedings and fucking. Vampires were sensual beings, and she wanted to meet all of Hegna’s needs.
Stormey didn’t care where they were as long as they were together.
“You are a very determined human, miere,” Hegna murmured. She brushed Stormey’s hair away from her face. Her fangs were peeking from underneath her lip. There was a small amount of blood in the corner of her mouth that ran down toward her chin.
Stormey reached up and wiped it away with her fingers. She leaned down and pressed a kiss to Hegna’s lips, tasting a hint of her blood.
“For someone I want, I will be.”
“And you don’t care that we are here?” Hegna arched an eyebrow.
Stormey looked around, seeing a few eyes were on them, but the majority of the vampires and humans were deep in their own pleasures. She turned back to Hegna with a smile.
“I don’t know.” She shrugged. She pressed another kiss to Hegna’s lips and rocked her hips. “I kind of like it.”
“Is that so?” Hegna nipped her bottom lip with her fangs.
“Yes. So people can see that it is me who will serve all of your needs.” Stormey laughed as Hegna pushed her down onto the chaise with her back resting on the cushions.
Hegna smiled, bracing over Stormey.
“You are my vampire, and if anyone will feed you and fuck you, it will be me.”
“You are daydreaming again,” Miss Lavana announced. She sat back in her chair and eyed Stormey.
They were in the large library where they met for all of her lessons. Leather-bound books filled the rows of shelves. There was so much rich history in this room that Stormey loved coming here to learn. Even on the off hours, she snuck down here and pored through the books. Some were written in other languages she couldn’t read, but there were plenty she could.
Stormey glanced at Miss Lavana and felt guilty. She was right and hadn’t been paying attention to her. Stormey bit her lip and stared down at her notes and chuckled.
“I’m sorry, Miss Lavana,” she said sheepishly.
“You have the look of someone in love,” Miss Lavana murmured.
The older vampire had been a wonderful teacher for Stormey. Miss Lavana had stressed that with her new position, it was important for her to learn the history of their kind, if she were to help lead them. Stormey agreed. She was a firm believer one must know where they’d come from in order to know where they would need to go. Mistakes in the future could be avoided if one had a clear understanding of history.
Stormey loved researched, but right now, her mind was occupied with the memories of the night she’d spent with Hegna in the feeding club. She should have been embarrassed or ashamed that she’d had sex with her mate and allowed her to feed from her in front of others.
But she didn’t feel any of that. She had heard the whispers that people were questioning why the princess hadn’t claimed her.
One thing she’d learned about vampire society was there was lots of gossip. She was sure word would get around about her and Hegna in Madam Rice’s establishment. Which was what Stormey wanted. She wasn’t ashamed to want people to know that it would her providing for Hegna.
Since she had returned to the castle, Hegna had been ankle-deep in dealing with the lycans. More attacks had been occurring not only in their territory, but all across the country. The lycan alpha was making good on her promise. The same day they’d walked through the doors of the castle, Hegna had been pulled from her, and hours later, Stormey had been notified the princess and a small army had left for battle.
Stormey’s heart had been in her throat this entire time. She hadn’t even got a chance to see Hegna before she’d left.
“We can finish another day. You are making good progress,” Miss Lavana said. Her eyes crinkled in the corners with her smile. She had shared with Stormey that she was almost five hundred years old but didn’t look a day over fifty. The vampire worked as a historian for the coven and had been a wealth of information for Stormey.
“I appreciate it.” Stormey laughed. She reached up and rested her hand on her neck. The two pinpoints from Hegna’s fangs were scabbed over. Her core clenched when she ran the tips of her fingers over them. She found herself missing her vampire. They’d had one hell of a night with each other, and then duty had called. She glanced up and caught Miss Lavana’s eyes on where her hand touched. Her face warmed as she stood from the table. “I do have one question for you.”
“Yes, my lady. What would that be?”
“Has there ever been a history of a human sitting on the throne beside the king or queen?” she asked.
Miss Lavana’s eyes softened, and she shook her head.
“No, my lady. There hasn’t.”
