“We need to flush out the alpha, and I think you having those humans will help. We will go to Sanlow and use them as bait.” It was time to end this between the lycans and vampires. If they had an entire town full of lycans, then that’s where the alpha had to be. No one had been able to pinpoint her location. Each broadcast led to a dead end. What better way to draw her attention, then, by humans?

“I have no problem with that. It’s what I had planned to do. When?” Lethia shrugged.

She was the calmest of the three of them, but it didn’t make her any less deadly. She liked the finer things in life and took advantage of everything they gained as being vampires. Hegna could learn a few things from her. She had always focused on her people and trying to make the world a better place for vampires. Maybe it was time for her to indulge in life’s pleasures.

Stormey came to mind.

Yes, it was time to show Stormey what it really meant to be a member of the vampire society.

“After I finish my business here, then I plan to go home for a moment. Await my call.” Hegna walked over to the hologram box and ended the call. She picked it up and tossed it on the small table in the corner. She stalked out of the room, ready to hunt lycans.

“When will I know what is going on?” Stormey laughed.

It had been over a week since Hegna had left, and she’d had no word from her. Stormey tried to keep busy around the castle to stop herself from going crazy with worry. Was she okay? Was she injured? Did she need blood? Did she think of her?

Stormey’s brain raced with questions that were hard for her to turn off.

She sat impatiently while Cici worked on her makeup. She had been whisked away to her quarters where she was forced to shower and have her hair and makeup done. The black dress Cici brought her was breathtakingly gorgeous. It had a wide neckline that showcased the column of her neck and her deep cleavage. It was skintight and flared out around her ankles.

“Soon,” Cici said. She narrowed her eyes on Stormey’s lips as she painted ruby-red lipstick on them.

Stormey rolled her eyes and huffed. She liked surprises, but she didn’t like being in the dark.

Cici stepped back from Stormey with a wide grin. “There, I’m done. “

Stormey took in her reflection in the mirror and froze. She almost didn’t recognize herself. She was never one to wear makeup before due to not being able to afford it, and honestly, there was no point. She blinked and leaned forward, slightly in awe of Cici’s handiwork. Her eyes were highlighted and accented by the eyeshadow, her skin appeared bronze-like, and her lips were pouty and full.

“You are amazing,” Stormey murmured. She admired her hair that was in an updo style, putting her neck on display. A bit of sadness filled her when her gaze dropped down to where Hegna had drunk from her. The bruising was barely visible. She reached up and brushed the spot with her fingers unconsciously. “When will I know where we are going?”

A knock sounded at the door. Cici giggled and motioned for her to go answer it. Stormey inhaled a breath, sensing butterflies fluttering in her belly. She pushed up and stood from the chair and ambled over to the door. She smoothed a hand along her dress and glanced down at her shoes. She’d had to walk a few times around her suite to get used to the three-inch heels. She refused anything higher than that.

Stormey glanced over at Cici one last time. Her attendant was busy cleaning off the vanity where she’d prepared Stormey. Stormey laughed softly and opened the door. She froze in place.

Hegna.

Her vampire was dressed in her infamous black leather attire, only this tunic was cut low, allowing Hegna’s cleavage to be visible. Her arms were bare, showcasing her defined muscles. A zipper ran down the front of the tunic that gave Stormey ideas. Her mate was dressed in soft, supple leather pants and black heeled boots.

“Hegna.” Stormey flew forward into Hegna’s arms. She wrapped hers around Hegna’s waist and held her tight. She bit back a cry, not wanting to ruin Cici’s work with her tears. She sucked air in, taking in Hegna’s scent. She smelled of warm, soothing vanilla. Hegna lifted her chin and pressed her lips to Stormey’s.

They may not have had their goodbye when she’d left, but Stormey welcomed their hello. Hegna’s tongue pushed forward past her lips. Hegna was dominant, as always, with her kiss. Her tongued stroked Stormey’s, eliciting a response from her body that only she could draw out. Stormey leaned into her, returning the kiss with the same fire and fury that came rolling off Hegna.

Hegna broke the kiss and leaned her forehead against Stormey’s.

“You are safe and unharmed?” Stormey asked breathlessly. She reached up and cupped Hegna’s face with her hand. She marveled that her mate was back and had apparently orchestrated something.

“I am.” Hegna opened her eyes. She stepped back slightly and raked her gaze over Stormey’s figure.

Stormey exhaled and smiled at the pure lust burning in Hegna’s eyes. She playfully stepped farther back and swirled around so Hegna could get the full effect of the dress.

“Do you like it?” she asked. She’d lost some weight from her workouts with Zeke, but she still had her curves. Her breasts, hips, and ass hadn’t been affected from the weight loss. She’d noticed her stomach was a little flatter and her thighs were more toned.

“I do,” Hegna replied. She rested a hand on Stormey’s hip and backed her into the room. “I have something for you.”

Stormey then saw a long rectangular box in her hand. Her heart fluttered at the sight of it. Was her vampire softening and had brought her a gift? Stormey grinned and had to keep from bouncing in place.

“Turn around, miere.”

There was that word again.
