Tomesha’s eyes darkened. She spun on her heel and led Dru through the establishment. Eyes were on them as they navigated through the club. The presentation of Tomesha to her was for everyone to see. Tomesha was deemed special. Mistress purposely did not allow anyone to feed from Tomesha.
Tonight, Tomesha was being offered as a gift to Dru.
It was a move to gain a favor from Dru—or her house. Dru held back the smirk. She’d be interested in hearing what it was Mistress would request. Her gaze settled on the material brushing Tomesha’s ass as she walked. The sway of her hips had Dru mesmerized within seconds. Thoughts of Mistress disappeared from her mind. Tomesha glanced over her shoulder with a shy smile. It was then Dru knew she’d follow this human anywhere.
“Make yourself comfortable.” Tomesha closed the door to her private suite.
Dru strode forward and took in the room. It was simply decorated while the air held the scent of Tomesha. Furniture was scattered around, but what caught Dru’s attention was the large bed that was the focus. She turned to find Tomesha standing with her back to the door. Her beauty was breathtaking and left Dru struggling to breathe.
“Would you like some help with your uniform, General?”
Dru was never one to be at a loss of words. She gave a quick jerk of her head. She pushed off the door and ambled over to Dru. Tomesha reached for Dru’s jacket and slid it off her shoulders. A smile lingered on her lips while she worked.
“Dru,” Dru announced.
Tomesha paused, confusion lining her face.
“My name is Dru. You don’t need to call me by my title.”
“Oh, are you sure?” Tomesha gathered the jacket to her chest. She glanced down at it before looking back to Dru.
“Positive.” Considering what Dru wanted to do to this female, titles were not needed. She wanted to hear her name on the human’s tongue.
“I’m sure you’ve had a long day.” Tomesha walked over to hang the jacket on a hook near the door. She came back to Dru and hesitated when her gaze dropped to the daggers on her waist.
“I’ll get those.” Dru cleared her throat. She unhooked her belt and pulled it off. The daggers remained in their coverings.
Tomesha placed them on the nightstand by the bed. Dru appreciated it. She was always a warrior who needed to keep her weapons near her.
“Call me crazy, but I feel as if I know you somehow, General—Dru,” Tomesha said sheepishly. She laughed and shook her head. “Weird, huh? I’m sure we’ve never even been in the same room before?—”
“You’re the woman from the street. You were with that male and older woman,” Dru admitted.
Tomesha froze in place. Her eyes grew wider as she stared at Dru.
“It was my warriors who intervened with that altercation.”
“You were in that black truck.” Tomesha slowly came to stand before Dru. She studied her. “I could feel someone watching me, but I couldn’t see in the truck to work out who it was.”
“I’m sorry. I should have gotten out to check and ensure you were okay.” Dru silently cursed. Was that male her lover? Had he been defending her honor from the other men? Even though the woman worked for the madam, it didn’t mean she couldn’t be married. Plenty of women did what they had to, to survive.
“That’s okay. Thank you for sending your men to help. Those men were going to try to hurt my brother,” Tomesha said.
Dru wasn’t sure why, but relief filled her at hearing the male was her relative and not a lover or mate. She reached out and brought Tomesha to her. Her plump lips parted. The hint of a spicy aroma gently rose. Dru inhaled deeply and breathed it in. This little human was becoming aroused. Dru leaned down and didn’t wait for permission. Her mouth crashed down on Tomesha’s lips, hard and claiming, the kiss seared with hunger that was barely contained.
This wasn’t going to be just a simple feeding. The sensual touch of their lips brought out a possessive nature. Dru wanted to consume this woman in her arms. Tomesha inched closer to her. Her lips parted, allowing Dru’s tongue to slip inside.
Dru gripped Tomesha’s hip and held her still while the other hand tangled in her hair, pulling her closer until there was no space left between them. She sensed the frantic pounding of the human’s heart. Every instinct screamed for her to bite her, drink her nourishing blood—mark her.
It had been a while since Dru had fed from a live donor, and this one in her arms was so damn tantalizing.
Tomesha trembled, but instead of shrinking away from Dru, she surged forward and pressed into her. Her fingers clutched Dru’s shoulders, her nails digging deep. The slight pain fueled the fire burning inside Dru. A guttural sound escaped her when their tongues danced together.
She tore her lips from Tomesha’s and stared down at her. With each breath she took, Dru felt the possessiveness inside her grow.
Mine.
The hunger that coiled deep in her belly had nothing to do with blood. She ignored the word that echoed in her head. There was no way this woman belonged to her. Just for the night, she’d been gifted to Dru. Dru focused on that. Not on how beautiful Tomesha was or how sweet her kiss was. Dru lifted her hand to Tomesha’s jaw, and she grazed the soft curve of her cheek with her thumb. Tomesha’s breath came ragged, her pupils wide, and she slowly rubbed her breasts against Dru’s.
