Thank you. Have a good night!

I do as she suggested, brushing my hair up and wrapping the ponytail with a red ribbon. Pairing my outfit with my cherry red heels, I slip them on, hooking the strap around my ankle and take one more look in the mirror, trusting my best friend. I send her one more picture for affirmation.

You sure?

Chloe

You look hot.

Thanks.

I stick my ID and my debit on the back of my phone just in case and slip both in the pocket of my dress. Stepping out of my room, I run into Gabe, his eyes widening in surprise. “Where are you headed?”

“A date with Levi.”

He smirks. “Have fun. I’m going out with a couple friends later, so I won’t be here either.”

“Okay,” I mumble, dragging out the word, waiting like he has more he’s about to say, but holds back. A knock sounds at the door, interrupting us. Grinning, I spin on my heel, stridingtowards the door, and wave to him over my shoulder. “I’ll see you later, Gabe.”

I open the door and find Levi standing there dressed in dark blue jeans and a black button down with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows and the top two buttons open making my mouth water. Licking his lips, he grips another bouquet of flowers in his hand, with his eyes as wide as saucers and his mouth gaping.

“Shit,” he mumbles under his breath. His Adam’s apple bobs up and down as he gulps hard, blinking as if he’s not sure what he’s seeing is real. “What the fuck are you trying to do to me?” he rasps, his words a low growl.

My brows furrow. “You don’t like it?”

He huffs a laugh and steps towards me. “You’re kidding right?” He closes the distance between us and wraps the hand with the flowers around my waist dragging me into him, his hard shaft pressing into my stomach. Gasping, my eyes flare, heat pooling low in my belly. “I absolutely love it. You are not only gorgeous, Layla, but you’re so damn sexy.”

My cheeks flush, and my heart lurches, a smile curving my lips. “Thank you, Levi.”

Tipping his head down, he sucks my bottom lip between his and then kisses me, soft and slow, eliciting a content sigh.

Gabe clears his throat from somewhere behind me, breaking us apart. Levi lifts his head, reluctantly releasing me and I turn to face my brother. “I thought you were going out?” he taunts, chuckling.

We’re leaving, now,” I claim. Taking the flowers from Levi, I ask, “Are these for me?”

“Of course.”

Turning back to my brother, I hold out the flowers. “Here. Since you’re staying with me, rent free, you can put these in some water for me and we’ll get out of your hair.”

“Thanks,” Levi smirks, nodding towards Gabe.

Heaving a sigh, he takes the flowers from me. “Fine. Have fun, you two,but not too much.”

“Bye, Gabe,” I say, threading my fingers through Levi’s and tugging him out my front door.

“You have everything?”

“Yup,” I respond, popping the p, feeling playful.

I slip into the passenger seat and he closes the door behind me, running his hand through his hair as he strides around the front of the car. The moment he gets behind the wheel, he shakes his head, chuckling low. “This is going to be a long night.” He reaches over tangling our fingers and flipping his hand so mine covers his, resting on the gear shift.

“I really can’t explain what last night meant to me, Levi.”

He glances at me out of the corner of my eye before his eyes drift back to the road. “I’m glad you had fun.” Clearing his throat, he informs me, “So, the plan is still to hit the new horror movie before dinner?”

“Yes, sounds good.”

He nods and turns the music up for the short drive to the theater. A few minutes later, the scent of buttered popcorn hits my senses as we walk through the doors. “Mmm, that smells so good.” I hum, Levi stepping right in line.
