Mom kissed both babies on the forehead and then disappeared down the hallway toward the bathroom. "I'll be back for you two later!"

Cassie smiled through her tears when I shared their names. She took Rebecca and Dad held Elias while I rushed back to the bedroom to help Denise and Blake.

"You're all done," Denise said after Blake's bath, while I helped him into a pair of boxers. "I'll be back in six weeks to check on you."

"Thank you." Blake hugged her.

She kissed his temple. "You did all the hard work. They're perfect."

Once Blake lay on his back in bed, I removed the twins' swaddling and lay them on his bare chest.

"They are perfect," he said. "Ten fingers. Ten toes. Bright eyes. A little flaky skin, but that'll be gone in no time."

"And gorgeous heads of hair." Blake huffed a laugh as I rubbed their little cue-ball heads. Neither of our children had a single strand of hair yet, but that was all right. They'd more than make up for it when they shifted for the first time.

CHAPTER 24

BLAKE

Three o'clockon Christmas Eve morning was way too early for the bullshit my pregnancy and parenthood book offered in its final chapters. How was I supposed to find a "new normal?" Nothing had been normal since Ollie and I met.

I shouldn't have put so much faith in one parenting book to show me the way. Now that I'd gotten to the end, I wanted to throw it across the room.

That would probably wake Rebecca, who slept peacefully, nestled against my chest. She'd fallen asleep nursing. I'd expected my milk to dry up right away, since human omegas' usually did, but Denise reassured me everything was fine. The babies might have shifted my genetic code a little. No big deal.

I didn't feel like a bear shifter. Ollie heard his bear's voice in his head, but I heard only the same intrusive thoughts that had always plagued me. My therapist Sharon had given me methods to stop them before they overwhelmed me. They were quieter now, and more positive, but still only mine.

Elias started to fuss, so I laid Rebecca back on her side of the crib. I rocked her gently with my foot as I nestled Elias in the crook of my arm. He rooted around on my chest eagerly until hefound my nipple and started to suckle. His thick brown hair was starting to grow in, reminding me of Ollie's.

Nope. Not going there. Not thinking about my sexy husband while my child nursed.

Once Elias was full and drowsy, I laid him down on his side of the double crib. Rebecca was still fussing a little, so I cranked the music box mobile that hung over their heads and let it play. It was too early to stay up for the day.

When I crept into our bedroom, Ollie's eyes were bright in the darkness. "Come here."

I climbed into bed with my back to him. I loved spooning in the morning.

With a single tug, he pulled me around so I was facing him. His hard cock pressed against my soft one, and I moaned.

"Missed you."

"I'm right here."

"You forgot to shut off the baby monitor," he said. "What were you thinking about?"

"Hmm?"

"You said, 'Nope, not going there,' to Elias."

I blinked. "You heard that?"

"I heard and smelled it. Something turned you on."

My face burned. "I was thinking of you, that's all." My traitorous cock stiffened in my pants.

"Thinking of this?" He dropped his head to graze his teeth over the bite mark on my neck. He scooted lower and licked my clavicle. "This?" His breath ghosted over my nipple, and the hairs on my arms bristled.

I moaned when his lips sealed around my pert flesh. He sucked hard on my already sensitive nipple.
