“And this one,” I say, nodding to the baby who came out of the tub second. “This one feels like Erika.”
Landon looks at her for a long time before nodding. “I can see it. I like it. So we have Tayah, Ruby, and Erika. But who are you,” he murmurs, looking down at our last daughter.
I hum, thinking the same question.
“I’ve got it, but it’s okay if it’s not what you want,” Landon says before smiling. “I think she’s Himari.”
“After my sister?”
“Yes. Is that okay or is that too confusing?”
I shake my head, grinning at my mate. “I think that’s perfect. I can’t wait for Himari’s aunt to meet her.”
Landon matches my grin. We share a quick kiss but just then, Ruby starts to get fussy. Already they’re causing trouble. I wouldn’t have it any other way.
It takes most of the night to get the six of us settled. This is our new normal. This is our new life. I’m filled with wonder and awe and only a little bit of anxiety as I finally get all four of the girls into their bassinets. This is going to be a lot of work but together, with Zac and Teo’s help, I’m sure we’ll figure out a way to make it all work.
Huh, I guess Landon got his Christmas wish after all.
Epilogue
Landon
The Christmas lights aredazzling as I step into the living room. Jett took all four of the girls into the living room, making sure they’re in different colored outfits so we can tell all of them apart. He has them all on the floor, safely to the side. He sits on the floor, just watching them. He can’t seem to take his eyes off of them, still overwhelmed by the newness of all of this.
While he took care of the girls, I took a shower. I feel like a brand new man. I even properly did my hair using my blow dryer and products. It’s so wild to think that just 24 hours earlier, I felt so awful and now I couldn’t be happier.
I walk over to my mate, running my fingers through his short, dark hair as I pass. There’s a knock on the door and I run over, letting my parents inside.
“Merry Christmas,” I say, pulling them both into tight hugs.
“Landon, what’s going on? Why do you look so different?”
I point at my stomach. “The eggs have been laid!”
They forcibly shove me out of the way and run inside in search of their grandbabies. I’m left sputtering before laughing my ass off. “I see how it is,” I call out, shutting the door behind them. “I’m chopped liver now!”
“I love you with all my heart, but I need to see these beautiful grandbabies,” my dad calls back. A moment later I hear oohs and awws and crying. I pick up the bags my dads dumped on the ground, bringing them into the living room with me.
“They’re so beautiful,” my omega dad is saying. He’s sitting on the ground beside Jett, leaning his head against my mate’s shoulder. He’s also openly crying as he looks at our babies.
My alpha dad walks over to me, pulling me into a tight hug. “How are you? Everything okay after, you know, all of that?”
I hug him back just as tight. “I’m okay. It was a lot but I made it through.”
“Yeah, you did. Congratulations, Landon. Welcome to parenthood.”
I look at my dad for a long moment. “Thank you for the example you’ve given me. You’re a good dad.”
“I did the best I could,” he says, suddenly short on words. “I’ll be here for you. Always. You might be a grown alpha, but I’m not going anywhere.”
“Good, because I have a feeling I’m going to need all the extra hands I can get.”
My dad grins at me, putting his arm around my shoulder and bringing me over to the couch.
“I’m so happy for you both,” my omega dad says, finally pulling himself off the ground. He walks over to the couch, intending to sit beside my dad but he’s pulled into my dad’s lap instead. My alpha father growls playfully, running his nose against my dad’s jaw.
“Landon was determined to get his perfect Christmas baby pictures,” Jett says, flashing a grin in my direction.
