“It went well. I decided on the injection and they already gave me the first one.”
“So can we stop using condoms now?” he asked with a smile.
“Not yet, we have to wait at least a week.”
“Well, that’s not long. Shall we go?” he asked, taking my hand.
“Where are we going?” I asked.
“To my apartment,” he stated.
When we left the Medical Center, we headed to the parking lot. He walked me to my car; his was on the floor above.
“I’ll send you the address just in case, but try to follow me,” he requested, while sending me the address by message.
“Ok, I’ll wait for you to come down and then I’ll follow you.”
I got into my car, started it, and waited. A few minutes later, a high-end dark gray BMW stopped next to me. Henry lowered the window, signaled for me to follow him, and drove off. I indicated with my hand that I was ready and went after him.
His exclusive and modern apartment was located in the Carrasco neighborhood. It had a minimalist architectural style and was surrounded by a natural environment that allowed for superb views of the greenery surrounding the building. He gave me a tour and I found it to be a modern and extremely warm place. It had three bedrooms, three bathrooms, an office space, a large kitchen, and a spectacular living room with a terrace.
“I really like your apartment, you have incredible views.”
“I feel very comfortable living here, but I spend less time than I’d like.”
“Because of work?” I asked.
He looked at me seriously and came closer to put his hands on my waist.
“You’re the first woman I’ve brought here, I’ve never come with anyone.”
My heart raced at that comment, which seemed to indicate that I was special to him. I didn’t want to get my hopes up, I didn’t want to focus on those details that led me to believe that the story with him would have a happy ending. False hopes could end up hurting more than disappointment, so I didn’t want to create expectations. It was better to enjoy and live in the moment without focusing on the future.
"Why did you never invite them?" I asked, to get an idea of what that comment implied.
"Because I never had a girlfriend. You are one, so I suppose it's right that you know where I live."
"I suppose," I responded, not knowing what else to say.
He gave me a kiss on the lips and pulled me toward the kitchen.
"It's getting a bit late, what do you think about ordering something to eat?"
"That's fine with me."
"Do you like Chinese food? There's a place nearby where they prepare it very well and deliver quickly."
"Yes, that sounds good."
He took the phone and placed the order. While he was doing that, I looked around the place. When I saw a picture frame, I went closer to look at it. It was the only photo I had seen in his apartment, and it showed him with his sister and who I assumed were his parents.
"Those are my parents," he said, standing behind me and embracing me around the waist.
"You have your mother's eyes, they're a beautiful color."
"Yes; Niky has them too, but they don't compare to yours." He turned me around and looked at me seriously. "Those gorgeous eyes have the most incredible violet-blue color I've ever seen in my life. You have an exquisite beauty that drives me crazy."
He lowered his lips to mine and kissed me eagerly, with desire, and I returned the kiss with the same intensity. Since I had seen him when leaving the doctor's office, I had needed to kiss him like this. He also drove me crazy; I couldn't stop thinking about him and longed to see him again. Henry Woollardy was taking over my heart at a dizzying pace, and that, rather than calming me, made me uneasy.
