“Am I lucky?” he asked, almost brushing my lips.

“I don’t know, that’s something you should tell me, champion,” I stated, showing a bravery I didn’t know I had.

“I could feel like the luckiest man on the planet, but I leave my luck in your hands.”

“And what do I have to do for fortune to be on your side?”

“Trust me,” he affirmed, and pressed his lips to mine to kiss me sweetly. “Do you trust me, Dalina?”

I looked into his eyes and could feel that connection that always united us. I didn’t need anything more.

“I trust you,” I affirmed, with conviction.

Henry took my hand and pulled me to stand up.

“Let’s go,” he said.

“I can’t leave without telling the girls.”

“My sister is right there,” he said, pointing to her, as she was just a few meters away from us, but not approaching, just watching us with a big smile.

Henry gestured for her to come over and she did, almost running.

“We’re leaving,” he said, not leaving any other option.

“Do you have any problem with me leaving with your brother?” I asked, a bit embarrassed.

In response, she threw herself at me and hugged me. I looked up at Henry who was watching us seriously, and when he saw my surprised face, he shrugged as if dismissing his sister’s behavior.

“Let Sol know and apologize to her for me too,” I requested.

“Don’t worry, go, go. And you,” she said, pointing at her brother, “I hope you know how to behave because she’s my friend, understood?”

“I assure you that clarification is unnecessary,” he stated, and pulled me along.

As we were leaving, I remembered something he had said and thought it would be a good option to calm the nerves I was feeling. I tugged on the hand that was holding mine because with so many people around, he was walking a few inches ahead of me. Henry turned and looked at me.

“You said you were going to dance with me.”

“Do you want to dance?” he asked, with a playful smile.

“I’d like to,” I replied.

“Very well, let’s go,” he said, and turned to head toward the stairs that led to the slow dance floor.

When we arrived, he turned to face me, with one hand he took me by the waist and with the other he took my hand and brought it to his chest. I put my free hand on his shoulder and we began to move in an embrace. On this dance floor they were also playing retro songs and at that moment“The search is over”by Survivor was playing. That song was an invitation to romance and, although I knew that wasn’t what he was proposing to me, I intended to enjoy that moment. As we slowly turned, he caressed my back. I listened to the lyrics of the song wondering if the search had really ended for me and Henry was that person. I didn’t know, but I feared he was. Why was I afraid? Because deep in my heart I suspected he was inaccessible, almost unreal.

Henry leaned down and hid his head in my neck, his warm breath felt like a sensual caress until he pressed his soft lips and kissed me there. Instinctively I pressed closer to his body and I could feel him smile against my skin. He left burning kisses on my neck, moving up to my earlobe, which he gave a small bite. I gasped involuntarily and so did he. He continued the imaginary path with his mouth to my jaw and slowly approached my lips. When he reached them, he pulled back slightly to look into my eyes. I held his penetrating gaze, though the gleam I saw in it made my whole body shiver. Without breaking eye contact, he slowly lowered to my lips and, the moment his soft lips made contact with mine, I lost all sense of everything. Someone could have told me I was in heaven and I would have believed it, because that’s where I felt I was. He sucked on my lower lip and then kissed me, taking possession of my mouth. It was one of those passionate kisses that I remembered in detail and that made me lose all control. My body began to tremble and I felt Henry’s accelerated breathing. A pressure was born in the lower part of my belly and I thought I was going to faint. Henry gasped more loudly and pulled away to look into my eyes.

“Let’s get out of here, please, because I can’t be responsible for my actions. This has never happened to me before, I can’t be near you because I get aroused just by brushing against you, just by looking at you. Let’s go and end this torture,” he pleaded, looking at me desperately. “What have you done to me, Dalina? Why do I feel this way when I’m with you? It seems like I’ve lost all my experience and maturity and can’t control myself, I feel like a teenager.”

He was asking me? I didn’t even know why I was feeling this way myself; all these emotions and sensations were new to me and I didn’t know how to handle them either. He was supposed to be the one with experience and expertise in these matters.

“Do you want to go to your place or mine?” he asked tenderly.

“To mine,” I answered, since everything was new I preferred to be on familiar ground.

Henry gave me a soft kiss on the lips and then took my hand and pulled me out of the club. When we got outside, the cool night air felt good; I wanted to breathe some of that air and lower my body temperature.
