“Good morning to both of you,” she said, but I noticed she was surprised to see me.
Jacinta was a woman of about 60 years old, short in stature and a bit plump. Her gaze was sincere and cheerful.
“Jacinta, this is Dalina, my girlfriend,” he introduced me.
“Pleased to meet you,” I said, approaching to greet her.
“The pleasure is mine, miss.” Then she looked at Henry and smiling added: “You have a very beautiful girlfriend. Congratulations to you both.”
“Thank you,” I said, and he looked at me and smiled.
“What were you doing? How can I help you?” she asked innocently, not realizing that the first question was impossible to answer.
Henry looked at me and had to make a great effort not to burst out laughing, though he discreetly looked away becauseit was impossible for him to hide his smile. I looked at Jacinta hoping she wouldn’t notice that Henry was completely amused and making a huge effort to suppress his laughter, but as always happens in these cases, that laughter ended up being stronger and irresistible.
“I was about to make coffee, but don’t worry, I’ll take care of it.”
“Then I’ll leave you to have your breakfast in peace,” she said, smiled, turned, and left.
When she was far enough away, Henry looked at me and let out a loud laugh.
“How indiscreet Jacinta turned out to be, asking us that question,” he said, unable to stop laughing. “I had completely forgotten she was coming today. What if she had found us in the kitchen in a compromising situation?”
“If that had happened, I swear I would have killed you,” I whispered.
Henry approached me laughing and hugged me.
“I’m going to take a shower. Wait for me to have breakfast,” he requested, turned, and left.
When he returned, I had prepared breakfast with what I had found, and everything was arranged on the kitchen counter. There was coffee, milk, toast, jam, and scrambled eggs.
“I’m famished. Thank you so much for this,” he said, pointing to what I had prepared.
“Enjoy your meal.”
“How are we going to do this? Are we leaving together or are you taking your car?”
“I prefer to take mine.”
“And what are we doing today?”
“You want to see each other again today?” I asked, surprised.
I enjoyed being with him and understood that in these early days of the relationship, we would want to spend as much time as possible together because we were establishing a bond and experiencing a passionate and sexually intense moment, but was seeing each other every day okay? Wouldn’t we wear out the relationship? Did seeing each other every day help us grow and strengthen the relationship, or on the contrary, could it end up hurting us? I had never had a boyfriend before and felt confused.
“Don’t you want to?” he asked, looking at me seriously.
“Of course I want to be with you.”
“So?” he asked, with seriousness.
“I don’t know. Is it okay for us to see each other so much? Won’t the relationship wear out?” I asked, honestly.
“That’s not going to happen,” he affirmed, with great conviction, “I already told you what happens to me with you. I’m thinking all the time about seeing you again, kissing you, caressing that glorious body, running my tongu…”
“Henry, I get it,” I interrupted him, because his literal description was getting to me.
He started laughing and came closer to me.
