After my friend left, I lay down to try to rest a bit because I knew that if I was going out at night, I needed to try to sleep at least another hour.

When I woke up, I felt much better. The rest had done me good, and I even felt less worried about the situation with Hermes Darwich. I was convinced he wouldn’t contact me again.

For the evening, I chose a black dress that came above my knees, but what was striking was that it left my back completely bare. It was sleeveless and very sensual. To show it off, I put my hair in a high ponytail and applied natural makeup, but highlighting my eyes and lips.

???

I arrived at “Heaven” after ten at night. I looked for my friends and found them on the upper floor of the venue. The club had two floors; on the ground floor there were restaurant-style tables and a dance floor with more relaxed music. The upper floor was equipped with sofas and living room tables, and the music playing was more festive. When I reached the sofas where my friends were, the song “Take My Breath” by The Weeknd was starting to play. Jim, one of my friends who was a fanatic of the singer, immediately stood up.

“Someone please come dance with me,” he begged.

“I’ll go with you,” I said, because I wanted to move my body and push away my worries.

“Let’s have fun, gorgeous,” he exclaimed, taking my hand and dragging me to the dance floor.

We started dancing and having a great time. Jim twirled around me, also taking my hands and making me spin. We laughed and enjoyed ourselves immensely. After a few minutes, several of our friends joined us, and we all danced in a circle. The next song was “Cold Heart” by Dua Lipa and Elton John, and holding Jim’s hand, I moved to the rhythm of the music, laughing as I always did when I was with all of them. After that song, my throat was dry from so much singing and shouting. I was heading toward the sofas where we had our things, intending to get something to drink, when I felt a hand grab my arm and pull me to a darker area.

“What the hell! Let go of me!” I shouted, and froze when I saw the back of the person dragging me. It was him, I had no doubt.

When he saw that I was struggling to free myself, he turned and looked at me seriously.

“I need to talk to you NOW!” was his authoritative explanation.

“Let go of me, right now! Have you gone crazy or are you determined to drive me insane?”

He cornered me against a wall and trapped me with his body, placing his hands on either side of my head.

“Are you cheating on my brother? Does Baco know you’re here dancing hand in hand with some guy?”

“I can’t believe what I’m hearing! Now I understand what’s wrong with you! You’re one of those damn control freaks who wants to direct everyone else’s lives to the point of interfering in your brother’s relationships. You probably already have someone picked out for him to marry and you think I’ve come along to ruin all your plans.”

He stared at me furiously, just inches from my face, but paying close attention to my entire tirade of words.

“Are you cheating on him?” he repeated.

“I’m not cheating on anyone! Let me go and leave me alone!”

“I don’t think Baco would like you holding hands with another man and dancing sensually with him, not to mention wearing this little dress that leaves your entire back exposed!”

“What?”

“Again... don’t you know how to say anything else?”

“Repeat what you just said.”

“Are you cheating on my brother?”

“I’m not cheating on anyone because I’m not Baco’s girlfriend! We’re just friends, nothing has ever happened between us and nothing ever will. Satisfied? You lunatic!” I exclaimed, the insult escaping before I could stop it.

“What?” was all he said, looking at me surprised and confused.

“Now you’re going to repeat what I say?”

“There’s nothing between you and Baco?”

“There’s a friendship, you idiot!” I was so furious that I wasn’t thinking about what I was saying, and I had to make a great effort not to lift my leg and give him a good knee to his groin.

“You’re not in love with each other?” he asked, but this time he lowered his voice.
