“Not what’s under here.” She smirks.

“Get your hands off of me,” I warn.

“What are you going to do?” She tilts her head, her face taking on an even gray sheen.

Shit. I’ve seen the same look on Declan’s face and my hands are still tied behind my damn back along with the rope bounding my feet a few inches apart.

Just as her fangs flash, a fists pounds on the door next to us. She rolls her eyes, opening the door with force. “What?”

“You’re dismissed. Elias told me to get this one.”

My body freezes. It’s Kingston.

Chapter sixty

Raven

Kingston steps in and closes the door behind him. He holds his finger up to his lips, signaling me to be quiet.

“What is this place?” I mouth.

He waits a moment, listening closely before he lets out a breath.

“Are you hurt?” He scans over me quickly.

I shake my head. “No. Other than a lesbian vampire tried to feel me up. I’m not sure if I feel violated or flattered.”

“What?” He frowns.

“Nothing. Never mind.” I turn. “Can you get this off?”

“Yes, but I need you to play along. I’m supposed to dose you again to bring you to the auction ring.”

“The auction ring? What the hell is going on, Kingston?”

He uses his hands to strip the rope down the middle. “You know the termhuman trafficking?”

“Yes. Doesn’t everyone?” I grab my wrists, rubbing away the burn when he frees me.

“Well, same concept but with people like us.”

“So, he’s selling wolves and vampires to the general public?”

He bends down, releasing the rope from my ankles. “Not the general public. We’re talking black market. Very discreet, lots of money.”

He stands back up. “Humans.”

“Humans? Why would humans want to buy someone who could overpower them?”

“They don’t want to keep you captive, Raven.” He pauses.

I remember Penny’s words.

“They want our blood,” I whisper.

Her nods. “These people think by consuming the blood of a supernatural, they’ll gain power. Abilities.”

“That’s…..”
