Tapping my left leg for me to get up, I followed behind him, grinning, to our bathroom to take a shower where we wentanother round. After our shower, we laid in bed talking, so I figured this was the best time to break the news to him.
“I’m pregnant,” I blurted while he was in the middle of talking.
Leaning up to turn the light on, he looked at me with a stern expression, “You serious?”
His face didn't really hold any expression, which made me nervous. I was sure that he would want this, he’s mentioned it a million times.
“Yeah, eight weeks. I know Rae is barely one, but I want my baby, Jawan.”
Scrunching his face at my response, he replied,“I know you want my baby; fuck is you on? Why you just now telling me?”
Rolling my eyes,I said, “You haven’t talked to me all week, you made it your business not to be here when I was up.”
Laughing lowly, he pulled me on top of him so that I was straddling him and said, “So my baby is having my baby?” He grinned, rubbing my nonexistent belly. “I knew I had that super sperm!” I joined him in laughter, I’m just glad he wants this just as much as me.
Since Jawan made me quit my job, I had a lot of free time on my hands. I’ve enrolled back in school to do my clinical’s, but I have a couple of months before that starts.
Wednesday is Jawan’s light day at the shop, so I decided that me and Jarae would have lunch with him today. The baby was craving soul food, so we headed in the direction of Charlies. Me and Rae sat at the counter since I was placing a to go order.
“She’s beautiful,” I heard from beside me, turning in that direction, I heard, “Do you mind if I sit here?”
I was temporarily caught off guard by how fine he was, regaining my composure, I shrugged, “It’s a free country.”
Charlie needs to hurry up because the last thing I need is somebody telling Jawan I’m in here entertaining anybody.
“I don’t mean to be so forward but you’re beautiful, would it be too much to ask for your name?” he asked me with an outstretched hand.
Against my better judgement, I offered my name and a handshake. “Hmm, beautiful name for a beautiful lady. I’m Terrance by the way. Could I treat you and your little sister here to lunch if that’s not asking too much?”
Sighing at his question I tried to think of a way to let him down easy. While he was very charming, I was very taken. Charlie heading our way with food was my saving grace.
I grabbed the bag from her and picked my baby up. “Um, Terrance is it? I appreciate the gesture, I really do, but I do have to decline. I’m in a relationship, and he is extremely crazy. Have a good day and enjoy your meal,” I said before I turned to walk away.
Lifting the bags from my hands, he said, “At least let me help y’all to the car.”
Again, I went against my better judgment and let him help, it wasn't like he was giving me much of an option anyway. Once I was seated and situated in the car, I got ready to pull the door closed but he wedged himself between it. He grabbed a hold of my hand and kissed the back of it.
“Okay beautiful, y’all drive careful.” My body tingled at the gesture. I loved the fuck out of my nigga, but this man was fine as fuck and I’d be lying if I said he didn’t have me smitten. I gave him a small smile and thanked him for his help.
I rode from Charlie’s to Jawan’s shop in complete silence. Although I didn’t do anything wrong, I was still consumed withguilt. I know I don’t want him flirting with another woman on any level. In a way I felt like I was cheating.
I was so deep in my thoughts I didn’t even realize I had pulled up to the Faded. Parking and grabbing a sleeping Jarae, I headed inside. Since she fell asleep, I’d send Jawan out to get the food.
When I made it to the office door, I went to grab the knob, and the door came flying open. A thick chick with a short haircut came walking out and she had a sarcastic smirk on her face as she looked me up and down. If I didn't have Rae in my hands, I would have knocked it right off her raggedy ass face. Quickly moving past her, I walked into his office with my attitude very present.
“Who the fuck was she, Jawan?” I asked loud enough for everybody in the shop to hear.
Sucking his teeth, he stood to his feet and came to grab the baby. “She ain’t no fuckin’ body. She a barber that Joe hired last week to work in the empty booth up front. Nothing more nothing less. Don’t start tripping on me.” Following him over to the couch he was laying Rae on, I propped my hands on my hips.
“Nigga don’t trip. You in here closed the fuck up in your office with some bucket head hoe and you don’t want me to trip? Then she comes walking out with that smirk on her face like she knows something I don't. Make it make sense my nigga because I’ll beat both of y’all asses in here.” I was tight, because had this been me, he would have blown a gasket.
“Baby that bitch ain’t no fucking body. How many times I gotta tell your pretty ass that you got me? You, Jarae, and our new baby are my whole world, I wouldn’t mess that up for her bald head ass.” I laughed at his response as he wrapped me in his arms.
“I don’t want you closed up in here with her Jawan. There is no reason for her to be in here at all.”
I already could tell she was gone be a problem, but I’m the problem solver. I would beat this hoe to death over my man. That and I was a little insecure with how I looked right now. Jawan let me know how beautiful I was on a regular basis, but I also know the type of women he encounters on a regular basis.
“You got it, Babe, what y’all doing over here?” That reminded me that he needed to go and get the food out of the car.
