CHAPTER
THIRTEEN
Jawan
“Tech, I been knowing you for a long ass time, I’ve never known you to take this long finding somebody.”
I fussed into the phone. I been searching high and low for this nigga Turbo, but I keep coming up empty handed. I know it was him that hit my trap, but it’s like he disappeared. It doesn’t help that I don’t know that nigga real name. I’m annoyed with the whole shit.
“I got you Grim, I’m going to find him.”
Right now, I was headed to my granny’s to check on her and LeStar. It’s been a while since I got with my girls, so I’mma pull up to lay my eyes on them before I go to the shop. Star still hadn’t found a place so her and her husband were staying at my grandmothers. I didn’t mind my sister being there, but her bitch ass husband could beat it. Letting myself in I headed in the direction of their voices. They were in the kitchen. Granny was sitting in the kitchen with Rae in her lap, letting her Mix whatever she had in the bowl on the table.
“What y’all in here doing old lady?” The sound of my voice startled them because Granny almost jumped out of her skin.
“Got damn it, JJ, what have I told you about making your presence known when you walk in a damn room? You’re going to give me a heart attack boy,” she fussed.
“Don’t I always tell y’all to be aware of your surroundings? And why the alarm ain’t on?”
“This is my house, Jawan.”
“I know, I bought it. Where Star? When Rae get here?” I asked picking my baby girl up and covering her face with kisses.
“Tiomi brought her this morning, she has some running around to do, and your sister is with her.”
That caused my face to frown up. I hadn’t really been fucking with Tio like that since the mall incident two weeks ago, but she still coulda told me where she was going. Pulling out my phone I sent her a text.
Me: Where the hell you at Tiomi that you had to drop my baby off?
Wifey: Out
Me: Bet.
I sent a text to Rex, the detail that I had on her, to find out where she was. If he said something that I didn’t like I’m gone push her shit back.
I had a semi light day at the shop today, so I let Granny know that I’mma take my baby with me. She needs to rest, and I know that a physical therapist is scheduled to come through here to work her knee out.
When we walked into the shop it was busy. Jarae wiggled out my arms to run into Joe’s awaiting ones. She referenced to Joe as her “papa.” Since Tio’s parents were deceased and Romeo was a bitch ass nigga my granny and Joe stepped into those grandparent roles for her. Shad was my first appointment for the day too, so he was already in the chair.
“Damn Rae, you puttin Joe old ass before uncle Shad? I’m hurt.”
He pouted then acted as if he was crying which made Jarae climb into his lap and attempt to console him.
“I got yo’ old lil’ nigga,” Joe countered.
These two always went at it. It’s been like this since we were kids. Shad was always fuckin’ with Joe, trying to get under his skin any way that he could.
“Nigga bring your ass, I got a full schedule today, and I need to make up with my wife, I ain’t had no pussy in weeks,” I revealed.
Tiomi wouldn’t let me touch her because I was coming in extra late. I was only doing it to bother her. I would kick shit at Shad’s or Joe’s crib and go home when I was sure she was asleep. Normally, I made it my business to be home for dinner with them and so we could bathe my baby together, but her being in that nigga face had me in my feelings. I’m pissed he bounced before I could break his fuckin’ face, but he better pray to whatever God he prays to that I don’t find out who he is.
With today being a Saturday, it was busy as fuck. Muhfuckas know I’m appointment only, but since I was here, I helped them take some walk-ins. That meant that my baby girl had become restless, I’ve been working nonstop, so I haven’t been able to grab her anything to eat.
“Aye Joe, can you call Tiomi to bring Rae some food? She calls herself trying to have an attitude with me.”
“I can grab her something.” I looked up to see Nia walking towards me.
“Naw, you can't. Joe call her mother, please.”
