I had finally finished Tech’s cut and I was brushing the excess hair from his neck and face before I pulled the cape from around his neck. He stood to his feet and adjusted his clothes before pulling a bill from his pocket.
“Aight, ‘preciate it bro’. I’ll get on that asap and let you know what I come up with.” He extended a closed fist to me and I did the same before he made his way out of the shop. I was still uneasy about the look that Nia’s rat ass had on her face so after I was done straightening my station I retreated to my office. When I walked in, Tio was sitting behind the desk looking at the computer screen.
“You ready to eat baby?”
“I asked you if you had a female in your office when Chy called and told me that day right?” she finally put her eyes on me.
“Yeah, but —”
“No! There are no buts. I asked you and you lied to my face Grim! I can see where the girl knocked and came in here. The two of you didn’t leave out until ten minutes later.”
“Tio, wasn’t sh?—”
“Shut the fuck up, Jawan. You had a chance to do all of this talking when I asked but you chose to lie so now, I don’t want to hear shit you have to say.” She stood from her seat and started to gather all of her things. “You need to come get whatever shityou’re going to need out of my house because you won’t be staying there.”
“Baby,” I sighed out. “I didn’t do shit with that girl.”
“Yeah, well you had a chance to tell me all of that but instead you lied. You have until eight or you’ll have to go buy all new shit.”
Once she was done speaking her peace, she left my office. With every step she took my chest grew tighter and tighter. I had fucked up and potentially lost my wife and I didn’t even get no pussy from that hoe. I stood to grab my phone and keys to try and beat her home.
“Joe, I need to head out for a second; I’ll be back to lock up.”
I didn’t even let him respond, I just rushed out of the door, hopped in my car and floored it all the way to the house. I couldn’t lose my family behind no stupid shit like this. I was pulling in right behind Tiomi, who I could see letting the girls out of the car. I made my way into their direction and grabbed Lae’s seat out of her hand.
“I got it, Grim.” She tried to snatch it away from me, but I gave her a look that let her know not to play around with my kids. I didn’t give a fuck about her attitude when it came to them. I helped the girls into the house and grabbed Lae out of her seat. I missed the fuck out of my babies today.
“You need to be getting your stuff and leaving Grim, you’re not staying here.”
“And where the fuck you expect me to go, Tio? We’re married, bruh.” I was frustrated that we were even here and dealing with this shit behind Si’s stupid ass. “Tio, baby you gotta believe me. I wasn’t on no shit in my office man.”
“That’s the fucking problem, I did believe you and you lied. Go over there with that bitch. I’m over it honestly, I don’t give a fuck where you go as long as it’s not my house.”
“Tio I was not closed up in there with her ma, I swear to God on our kids. That bitch came up there because she heard I was shot, and she couldn’t contact me to check on me.”
“Don’t put anything on my kids nigga,” she snapped. “And check on you for what? You’re not hers to be concerned about or am I missing something?” she accused with lifted brows.
Letting the frown that I wore deepen, my eyes connected to hers again. “You’re not missing shit because it ain’t nothing with me and that fuckin’ girl.”
“So, she wasn’t arguing back and forth with Nia when she told her to get out?”
Now that made me laugh. “Yo’ you for real right now ma? That’s who told you all this shit?” I asked and she shrugged. “You don’t even like that hoe man and she knows it so why the fuck you believing anything that she tells you?”
“Is she lying?”
“Hell yeah, she fuckin’ lyin’. That bitch wasn’t asking her to leave, she questioned me about her like she was my girl and I checked both of their asses. Tiomi I love you man and I wouldn’t jeopardize our family for no bullshit, aight?”
She stood before me with tears sliding down her pretty face and it made me feel like shit. I reached for her hand with the arm that Lae wasn’t in and this time she let me pull her into my body.
“What do I need to do to fix this? I can’t lose y’all.” I let my touch move to her already growing belly. “We’re about to have another baby and you don’t need to be doing any of this shit alone.”
“That’s for you to figure out, I’m not going to deal with you lying to me, Grim. I don’t lie to you, so I deserve the same respect in return.” She lifted Jalae out of my arms and moved out of my embrace. “You need to find somewhere to stay until you have this situation handled with these bitches.”
The frown returned to my face when she said that. “Yo’, you serious?”
“Yep, and take Rae with you for the night. I’m tired.”
