I leaned over and attempted to grab his phone, but he moved it out of my reach before I could get it. I extended my body justa little more, still trying to reach the phone and he raised it over his head, making it impossible for me to reach.

“Chill the fuck out Tiomi.” He frowned. “You hurt my fuckin’ kid, who I’m texting is going to be the least of your concerns.”

I had a very smart reply prepared before the nurse stepped out and called my name. Jawan stood before I did and reached for my hand which I snatched away and stepped around him. I heard him let out a sigh, but I’m sure he was moving behind me. When we made it to the room I climbed on the bed while Jawan and Star took seats in the chairs that were in the room. The three of us sat in an awkward silence with Jawan mugging me until my doctor showed up.

“Hello, hello,” Dr. Roman spoke after tapping on the door three times. “Back so soon Mrs. Jones?”

“Not by choice,” I replied and rolled my eyes at my husband.

“Well, let’s see what we have baking in here. Go ahead and lie back for me, Mommy.”

I did as I was told while she got the equipment set up. Lifting my shirt, she squeezed the jelly on my small belly and the familiar galloping sound filled the room and screen. The four of us had smiles on our faces, no one’s was bigger that Jawan’s. Dr. Roman moved the camera around on my stoma trying to find the baby, but her facial expression had me uneasy.

“Is everything okay, Dr. Roman?” I asked and sat up a little to see what she was looking at.

“N-no, no of course everything is fine, there are just two babies in here.” She smiled at me.

“YES!”

“NO!”

Jawan and I yelled at the same time. My palms became sweaty and tears sprang to my eyes.

“But I don’t want two babies to be in there, I don’t even want one,” I cried making LeStar come hug me. She wiped my tears and gave me a sympathetic look.

“The fuck is that supposed to mean Tiomi?” Jawan mugged me.

“It means you trapped me. You don’t want me to do anything but carry your bald head ass kids,” I cried harder.

“Aye, watch your mouth about my kids yo’, I’ma make sure I tell them what you said when we get over Granny’s, too. And how the fuck I trap you Tio and you’re my wife?”

I continued to cry. I felt like he did this on purpose and my life was over. What was I going to do with four small kids? He was always in the streets, Granny and Ma Cheryl are getting old, Chy is pregnant, Star and Darren are trying to get pregnant, it was all going to be on me.

“Aye, Doc, Star let me holla at her right quick.” They both nodded and exited the room and Jawan thumbed away my tears. “Talk to me baby, why you crying like this and talk fast because I’m starting to feel a way.”

I couldn’t help but laugh at the frown he wore on his face.

“I just don’t want to have two more kids, Jawan. We have our hands full with the girls right now, imagine two more.”

“We have a good system with the girls though, Tiomi.”

“Yeah, we do, when you’re home. You’re still in the streets a good portion of the day and that’s going to leave me home alone with four kids.”

“Ain’t no way you believe that I would leave you home alone with our kids like that, Tio. I told you I was setting shit up so I could be home more, right?” I nodded. “Aight then, so trust your man.”

He kissed my nose after I said okay again and let his hand drop to my belly.

“Two muhfuckin’ more, I’m proud as fuck. One of them my son and the other one is my baby girl,” he stated like he was sure.

“How do you know that Jawan?” I asked letting Star back into the room after I had got myself together.

“Because me and all my kids have a bond, you know that." He frowned.

I wasn’t even going to entertain this conversation any further. I climbed off the bed and left the room to schedule my next appointment. As we made our way out of the building, we saw Sierra’s hoe ass coming in and I made sure to return that shoulder bump.

“Bitch move when you see me coming,” I smartly stated.

“Tiomi.”
