I bob my head and admit, “Apparently, she’s a brother's sister and latched onto her brother’s girlfriend. She’s been described as a little crazy, I don’t know, I don’t really speak to any of them or look at them.”
“Yeah,” Donna agrees, “Rose thinks boys are gross and smelly.”
“They are!” I protest, “And sticky, don’t forget sticky,” I shiver in disgust, “Chad Carmichael in my art class tried to hold myhand when I told him no to being his girlfriend. It was gross, like he stuck his hand in a honey jar or something.”
Mama laughs with a glint in her dark green eyes that are so much like my own, she says, “They don’t always stay sticky, sweetheart.”
I scrunch my nose up this time before admitting, “I don’t care, I’m never going to have a boyfriend, instead I’m going to become a cardio nurse and focus on that, boys are just messy and too much hard work.”
Mama smiles softly at me and runs her hand through my curly dark red hair, again, like hers before I hear, “Sissy!” squealed. I turn quickly just in time to catch my little sister, who throws herself at me, making me giggle as I lose my footing. Mama quickly grabs my waist and I hold Kimmy tightly before I look over her and make sure she’s okay.
While I am a spitting image of our mama, and Kimmy has her dark red hair like me, her eyes are light green and all Daddy.
“Did you have a good day?” I ask as I bounce her on my hip while Mama takes her bag and Donna runs her fingers through my sister's hair.
This little girl is very much loved, especially by me.
She bobs her head and admits, “I did, I have a boyfriend!”
Mama outright laughs as Donna turns away to at least hide hers, while I scrunch my nose up and Kimmy giggles.
It’s like the universe wants to have a joke with me. Why else would she say that?
“I don’t think you’re old enough for a boyfriend,” I say sternly, and Kimmy grins wide, our daddy’s grin and replies, “Yes, I am, and he is all mine.”
Oh dear…
“Okay,” I relent, knowing that come tomorrow or even next week, she’ll forget about him, or I hope at least, and I ask, “You ready to go home?”
I see Mama and Donna look at each other, and I internally sigh, knowing what Kimmy is going to want, and I won’t be able to say no, even if I do have to study.
“Can we get ice cream?” she asks so sweetly, and I nod without hesitation, making Mama snort while Donna wraps her arm around us and guides us over to the car.
Guess I’ll just have to do my homework later because anything my sister wants, she can get, and hopefully I can convince her boyfriends are not okay at four, or any age.
Chapter 1
Stone – Twenty Nine Years Old
“I told Axel we’ll meet him just outside of town before we travel the ten hours to Orlando to meet up with Diego and Mateo who then will fly the ammo and drugs out,” Anchor says as he reads off his papers in front of him, “I’ll need two prospects, probably, Vincent and Albert having the most experience with three runs under their belt in the van. I’ll take up the front, with Stone, then have Trigger on the left side and Ace riding at the back.”
Axel is the president of the Untamed Hell Fire’s MC with a crazy ass old lady who sends pranks to all clubs he’s affiliated with. Male strippers or glitter bombs, I mean, she’s sweet as anything but still crazy, and I for one would not mess with her.
We do club runs with ammo and drugs with the Untamed, The Devil’s MC and the Huntsmen MC. They bring it to us, we take itto the Cartel, and all clubs get a big ass payday, and sometimes, if we’re in a war, or they are, we help each other out.
I try not to physically sigh with relief knowing I get to leave and have a break while Trigger winces and admits, “Ashley is going to be pissed. She says she’s got a few shifts next week at the grocery store, and I promised to take her out after cancelling our date the other night.”
“And by cancelling, you mean you were too busy fucking your mistress?” Ace confirms with a brow raise, and he flinches, knowing it was a shitty thing to do, especially when she wanted to try and connect with him again.
I fucking called it in high school.
He wasn’t ready for marriage or kids and instead of explaining his feelings to his sweet wife, he kept all that shit inside. Last year, after they got into an argument over the amount of time he’d been spending at the clubhouse instead of being at the home he had built for them a mile behind the clubhouse, where several brothers have houses including myself, spending time with her and their son. He walked out and ended up coming to the club party we hold once a month on a Saturday to vet new prospects and club whores.
The idiot got drunk and fucked Virginia Hallows, the schools ex cheerleader who had always wanted him and bullied his wife without him even knowing or that is the rumor going around. Since his affair started not one old lady or brother has told Ashley, myself included out of misplaced loyalty.
The brothers look away, none in agreement with what he is doing to his wife and son, Cole. I look down at the roaring lion that is carved into the dark oak oval table.
We’re in church, a room where we hold officer meetings, and every time Trigger’s mistress gets brought up, which causes him to close off more with us because he knows we’re right in the regard of him doing this to Ashley, we end up with a standoff.
