“I have to let you go, Oliver,” I try to hang up. “There’s someone at the door, but we’ll talk about it later, okay?”

“No,” his voice is firm as it comes over the line. “I am not hanging up without knowing who is at your door. What if I have to call nine-one-one?”

Since I can’t argue with that logic, I keep the phone up to my ear as I walk to my front door and open it.

“Oh my god,” I gasp in surprise when I see who’s on the other side.

“Are you okay?” Oliver yells in my ear. “Who is it?”

“I… I… I…” I am stuttering in confusion while staring at the small group of people assembled on my doorstep.

“Becca, if you don’t tell me right now that you are okay, I am going to hang up and call the police. I’m going to request the S.W.A.T. team,” he threatens.

“Oh,” I giggle nervously, “it’s just Dylan,” I finally explain. “Colton is with him,” I add when I spot my brother at the back of the group. “Call you later?”

“You better, for the love of god,” Oliver mumbles and hangs up.

“What’s going on?” I look in confusion from Dylan’s face to the rest of the posse he brought with him. I recognize his mom, Puck and Sully. My eyebrows go up in surprise when I recognize Emily’s father standing protectively by Arlene Knight. Also, thanks to the pictures I saw online, I recognize Dylan’s brother, sister-in-law and… son.

“We’re coming in, Becky,” Colt calls from the back of the group, then pushes people out of his way to get to me.

“Colt, what…”

He pulls me into a tight hug. “I’m sorry, I panicked,” he whispers in my ear.

“Can we come in, honey?” Arlene gives me a kind smile, but doesn’t wait for me to answer. She pulls me in a gentle hug, then walks by me and into my house like it is the most normal thing in the world.

“Rebecca,” Jon Stewart nods at me before following Arlene inside.

“What is happening?” I look back in confusion, only to turn back around and come face to face with Alison Knight.

“Hi,” she gives me a wide smile. “I’m Alison. The one who sent you the Instagram request?” she explains when I don’t say anything. “I’m married to Wyatt, Dylan’s brother.”

“Hi,” I finally say.

“This is Wyatt,” she reaches to the side and pulls on her husband’s shirt without actually looking at him as she continues smiling at me.

“Hi, Becca,” Wyatt gives me a boyish grin. He looks a lot like his brother. In fact, that’s how I imagine Dylan would look if he was ever happy.

“H-hi,” I croak out, so nervous all of a sudden.

“And this is our baby girl,” Alison points to the baby in Wyatt’s arms. “Her name is Parker and is eight weeks old.”

I don’t know what to say. I am so confused, my brain can’t seem to process anything anymore. Why are all these people in my house?

“Becca,” Dylan’s deep voice calls my name, and my head snaps his way without meaning to.

“Dylan,” I choke out. After our last encounter, I never expected to see him again, let alone with his whole family in tow.

“This is Ethan,” he bends down and picks up the small boy I spotted as soon as I opened the door. “My son.”

I am just staring at the two of them, my mouth opening and closing, but no sound coming out of it. I glance around and realize that everyone else is now inside the house, leaving me alone with the father of my unborn child as he is introducing me to the son he already has.

“Hi, Ethan,” I am finally able to say. “How are you?”

“Okay,” he almost smiles right before burying his face into Dylan’s shoulder. The move is so endearing, I get all chocked up as I watch them together.

“What’s happening?” I look at Dylan, trying to get my shit together. “I didn’t think I’d…”
