We are both breathing hard and can barely move.

“Can you…” I attempt to ask, but I can’t form more words than that.

I have no idea how he manages to extract his cock from my body, then lift himself from in between my legs. He maneuvers himself until he is lying next to me. He turns to his side and slides an arm around me until he settles with the palm of his hand over my growing belly.

“Fucking sideways is the shit,” he declares right before placing a hard kiss on my lips.

I smile and just stare at him, taking in everything that is Puck. I have to admit that this was a great diversion tactic on his part. It made me forget about everything for a few short but precious moments.

“What happened?”

I swallow hard when I see the mask of sadness coming over his face.

“They played us all,” he tells me quietly, anger also obvious in his voice. “They kept me and Sully on the computer while they send messages to all of us to send us in different directions.”

“Was it…”

“Bricks and Shortie?” he raises an eyebrow in question, daring me to pretend I don’t know what he’s talking about.

“I’m so sorry. I thought I was saving you and my dad. I just… I’m sorry.” I don’t know what else to say.

“We’ll definitely get back to that, babe,” Puck warns me. “If you can’t trust me when you’re in trouble, what are we doing here?”

“I love you,” I jump to say. “I love you so much. And the thought of them hurting you through me was unbearable.”

“I would feel the same if you got hurt because you didn’t tell me something that could’ve helped us. That was stupid, Em.”

“I understand.” My eyes are filling with water. Maybe Steve is right. I really am stupid.

“I didn’t say that you are stupid,” Puck comments, his eyes boring into mine. “Just that this was a stupid decision you made.”

“Did anyone get hurt?” I ask with a shaky voice, scared of what he might tell me.

“Dylan is in the hospital…” he starts.

“Oh my god!” I sit up in bed, ready to lose my mind. “Is he okay?”

Puck sits up as well and leans against the headboard. From the look on his face, I’m assuming the news is not good.

“He got shot in the chest, then had a seizure on his way to the hospital. He is in a coma now, and we need to wait for him to wake up.”

“Puck.” I am crying so hard, hands covering my face. I can’t look at him. “Is Becca okay?”

“She is.” Puck starts rubbing a hand up and down my back. “She took Bricks out with a baseball bat.”

“She did?”

I am in shock. I can’t believe all this happened. And I could’ve prevented it all had I told Puck about Bricks and Shortie being alive and well.

“There was another guy with them. He looked scary.” I know it’s a bit late now, but I hope whatever information I have will help.

“That’s Snake. We got him, too.”

I turn to look forward and press a hand to my chest. I don’t know what to say. If Dylan dies, how will I ever face Becca? I won’t be able to.

“Is Becca’s baby okay?”

“I think so,” comes the quick response from Puck. “And speaking of that,” he continues, “we will have to check on our baby.”
