“The thought did cross my mind,” I shrug. “That’s why I left a trail of witnesses behind, so I don’t get caught, ya know?”
She snorts. “Good to know.”
My face gets serious.
“You can always call for help,” I assure her.
“I could,” she speaks slowly. “Except for the fact that you broke my phone yesterday. And I have no means of calling anyone until I get a new one.”
I drop my head back. “Fuck,” I mutter. “I forgot about that.” I look back at her. “I’ll get you a new phone.”
She finally pushes herself off me, then comes to sit next to me on the floor.
“I can get my own phone,” she whispers, her face much closer than I’d have expected it to be.
I watch the intensity and determination in her eyes, loving everything about it. If I didn’t know myself any better, I’d say I fell in love with this girl the second I smashed that phone of hers into tiny little pieces.
“What’s your name?” I finally remember to ask her.
She takes a moment to grin at me.
“You can’t kiss me unless you know my name?”
I lean a bit more forward.
“Something like that.”
“So very noble of you, Xander Hamilton.”
“That’s me,” I grin back. “Noble.”
I am almost touching her lips now. She is hungry for it, I can tell, but teasing her with what’s to come feels too powerful to give in that easily.
“What’s your name?” I repeat my question from before.
“Do you promise to kiss me if I tell you?” She sinks her small teeth into her bottom lip, making me moan quietly in distress.
“I don’t make promises to anyone.”
Her eyes widen in surprise. She thought she had me.
“But I could make an exception for you,” I finally say, and the relief is obvious on her face.
“Abigail Bennett,” she murmurs the words. “Friends call me Abby.”
I bring my eyes to her mouth and lean closer yet, breathing across her lips, making her crave me as much as I crave her.
“We’re no friends, Abigail Bennett,” I inform her right before slamming my mouth over hers.
There is no hesitation on her part when she opens her mouth, inviting me in. I was going to taste her all over regardless, but it feels so much better knowing we are on the same wavelength here.
I lean back and she chases my mouth like she is scared I’d stop kissing her if she doesn’t. Like that would happen.
With sure movements, I bring a hand up and slide it under her hair, assuring her without words that I want her just as much, if not more.
“Xander…”
A shiver runs through her body when my tongue slides in and finds her. Her touch is sweet and tender, and it only serves to get me going more.
