"Do I?"

She blushed. "Some of these ideas you have for sex are quite surprising to me."

"If I ever go too far, I need you to let me know. I don’t want to scare you away from such pleasure."

She nodded. "Of course, I will, but so far everything has been very pleasant." It had been a lot more than just pleasant, it was in the realm of mindblowing.

Kaeldar's heart pinched in his chest. This human woman was someone who was going to put him through the ringer. He loved her strong character as well as her supple body.

He had to let her go at some point, but he was having a hard time keeping emotional and physical distance, because he wanted her with a need that shocked him to the core. It wasn't only a lustful need for her, it was also a very emotional one as well. He really wanted to keep her by his side.

She was someone who was bringing joy into his life. A life where his parents hadn’t shown him much love and happiness as a child. His only reprieve had been to join the war and fight against the humans.

Unfortunately, he just wasn't sure he was going to be able to keep her by his side. It wasn't safe for her here with the way his parents wanted her gone. She hadn’t even been here a day before they started asking for him to remove her.

He’d been raised by a strict rock giant family, knowing he would someday become the next king of their people. Yet here he was tending to a human female, wanting her to be by his side. His father would make it hell for him and for her.

It would never be permitted. His father would have her killed, if he thought she was special to Kaeldar. Something special would just be a distraction, or said his father. A king needed to be free of attachments.

If he gave the image that she was just a war captive, his father might leave her alone, but it would be a long shot.

"Kaeldar?"

Claira's voice penetrated his racing thoughts. When he took a glance down at her, he couldn't help but grin. Her blonde hair haloed her head, her piercing green eyes soothed him and drew him in like a fish on a hook.

He moved towards the bed and grabbed the covers slipping underneath them and wrapping his arms around her tiny waist. He drew her into him, his cock jumping back to attention.

Claira raised her eyebrows in surprise. "Already?"

He gave a chuckle. "I think it would be best for us to get some sleep, before we do it again. Sadly, it can be hard to control him, when I have you next to me naked and damp."

Placing her head in the crook of his shoulder Claira sighed out of happiness. Then the thought of the older rock giants went through her mind.

"I have a question for you."

"Do you now?"

She could tell he had his eyes closed and was ready to sleep.

"Yes." She snuggled a little closer. "I was curious about those other rock giants you were talking to. I have a sneaking suspicion they might be your parents."

She felt him nod his head. "They are indeed my parents."

"I’m sure they were delighted to see you again. They must worry, every time you leave for battle."

He shrugged his shoulders this time. "I’m not so sure about that, but it doesn’t need to trouble us right now. We have enough on our plates."

She was able to agree with that statement easier than she would’ve ever hoped for. "Just one last question?" She asked.

"One more and only one more." He murmured against her hair.

"Are they not the king and queen? And if they are the king and queen, does that make you..."

"A prince?" He finished for her. "Yes, it would end up making me the prince of the rock giant kingdom.” He paused for a bit. “Does it matter?"

"No, I was only curious." But it did matter. He was a part of the family who had begun this war. If the war lasted, until he was king, would he put an end to it?

"Then, yes, it makes me a prince."
