“I’m sorry, William. You have every right to be offended and not want anything more to do with me. Although when Lino saidall those awful things I didn’t believe a single word, when I saw the necklace I doubted you. I’m sorry and I can understand if you want me to leave.”

“What are you talking about? Look at me, Devon,” he demanded, forcing me to look at him by taking my chin and lifting my face. “I won’t deny that your behavior hurt me and that you believed that guy, but I also put myself in your place and can understand that it was difficult not to have doubts.”

The first thought that crossed my mind was that I didn’t deserve so much consideration from him.

“Thank you for understanding, but I don’t deserve your forgiveness.”

“Not only do you deserve my forgiveness, you deserve all my love,” he said, tenderly kissing me on the lips and moving me to tears.

“I’m sorry, William,” I insisted.

“You’re forgiven, but promise me you won’t see that guy again and much less take into account anything he says,” he demanded, looking at me seriously.

“I promise. How can you love me? You could have any woman by your side, anyone you want. Why me?” I asked, unable to hold back the tears that continued to flow uncontrollably. “I... I can’t give you children, I’m an idiot who lets herself be fooled by her ex... I don’t think I’m the right woman for you.”

I let out what I was thinking without holding anything back.

“Don’t talk like that!” he shouted, standing up and kneeling in front of me. “You are the most wonderful woman I’ve ever met, you’re beautiful, intelligent, seductive, incredibly kind and sweet. I’m the one who can’t believe that you love me, that you chose me after I behaved like an idiot when we met. I considermyself the luckiest man to have you with me. I never want to hear you deprecating yourself like that.”

His words brought me back to life. God, I loved him so much that my heart was about to leap out of my chest. I tried to hold back the tears, but I couldn’t; I was more emotional than ever. William tenderly wiped away my tears and looked desperate seeing me like this.

“I love you, Devon. You lit up my life and my daughter’s. You’re the angel we needed to be happy. Everything about you provokes a wave of emotions that lead to madness because I’m crazy about you. Never leave me because I wouldn’t know how to go on.”

I couldn’t hold back anymore; I needed to hug him, press him against my chest so he could feel my heartbeat, that heart that beat for him. My impulse was so strong that I made William fall and hit his back against the floor, which he did while trying to protect me the whole time. I was on top of him, hugging him as tightly as I could so he could feel the love I had for him.

“I love you, William. My God, I love you so, so, so much... Without you I wouldn’t know how to go on either. You and Aurora are my entire life. I fell in love with you from the very moment I met you.”

And I kissed him, kissed his lips, his face, his eyes, his nose, his cheeks. I kissed him with all my heart.

“My sweet doctor, can we continue with what we had planned?” he asked, taking my face in his hands and looking at me with such love.

I could no longer deny it, William loved me as much as I loved him.

“That’s what we’re doing,” I replied, smiling mischievously.

“That’s true, but my dream was to see you naked wearing only the necklace,” he reminded me.

At that moment I realized that I hadn’t thanked him for his gift. That gift he had bought with so much love.

“Thank you for the gift, it’s beautiful, it truly is. I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a spectacular piece of jewelry or been given something so beautiful. Thank you so much.”

“It doesn’t even come close to your beauty.”

I stood up and stretched out my hand for him to take it. William looked at me playfully and placed his hand in mine. I pulled him up.

“Let’s fulfill your dream, Mr. Cavaller,” I said in a seductive voice.

“First things first. We need to get rid of all those clothes,” he said, and without further preamble, he began removing all my clothes, both of us enjoying every movement of his hands and that erotic moment.

When there was nothing left to remove, he contemplated me as if I were the most beautiful and valuable thing he had ever seen. He looked at me as if I were a Goddess, with an ardent and possessive gaze.

“Are you going to keep staring at me or are you going to put the necklace on me?” I asked, deliberately moistening my lips.

In a second he was taking the necklace and returning with it. I slowly turned, giving him my back so he could fasten the wonderful jewel that I would wear with pride and emotion. When he clasped it, his fingers gently traced my neck with movements that stimulated a sensual response. Then I noticedhe stepped back a bit and I assumed he was observing me. I turned my face to look at him over my shoulder and found a gaze that radiated as much desire as love, and I thought my knees would give way and I would end up on the floor. I turned completely and stood facing him, looking at him the same way he was looking at me. When he reacted, he began undressing quickly, seeming to tear off his clothes because he did it with such desperation. When he was naked, he approached and kissed me passionately.

“You’ve already fulfilled my dream, you are everything I desire in life.”

My God! How I loved him! I loved him with all my soul. He was everything to me.
