“They get to be backstage.”

“Ahhh,” Sam whines.

“What? This isn’t good enough for you?”

Scarlett does not put up with any bullshit with her kid. Kristin would be proud. Sam puckers up and sends a kiss her way. It makes her and Parrish laugh.

Adjusting my collar, I catch Van staring.

“What?” I say to his smirking stare.

“You look good, bro. Is this all for Barbra?”

The sound of Layla sucking in her breath and the boys’ chuckles follow.

“Don’t do that, Van. Really.”

It only makes things worse. Parrish joins in.

“It’s a subtle difference, but I see it too.”

“Good for you. Think your writer’s imagination is working overtime. Please stop. Everyone please stop with that whole thing. We are just friends. Period. You’re going to ruin it with this bullshit.”

Sam elbows Teddy.

“That would have been good to get. You could start a wholeWho’s Dad Hot Forseries. You know, follow them.”

Tyler jumps in. “Oh yeah. I guarantee they’ll watch. I would. You’ll have four million fast.”

Fuck me.

“Stop! I mean it. Do not do that, Teddy.”

“Okay, okay. I won’t.”

That was entirely too easy.

“But it’s a good idea, right?” Sam says, proud of his contribution to my undoing. “Think about it.”

“I like it,” David adds.

I saw that. Teddy just shot a look to his coconspirators. It saidshut the hell up.

Pulling in front of Barbra’s house, I give one last directive.

“I don’t want to hear one more thing about Barbra and I. Everybody understand?”

I do not have the opportunity to listen to their bullshit responses, because my attention is turned. The front door opens and Barbra walks out and turns to lock the door. Holy shit. A kind of tingling sensation starts at my head and works its way down to my dick. That’s my silent review. David agrees aloud.

“She hot.”

“She’s your damn aunt!”

“So? We all think she looks good. God, Mom, we’re not kids anymore.”

Can’t blame them. They see the same things I do. The thigh high black boots. The short red dress with good lines. It clings to her body, then ruffles at the hem. The cowboy hat looks great. She turns, strikes a pose and salutes the party.

“My sister has it goin on.”
