“I can’t believe they only met five minutes before. They were joined at the hip for the rest of the night,” Bea said.
“Didn’t they vanish together at the same time?” Sierra asked.
“I heard they got arrested,” James, a housemate Isa had just met, piped in.
“Arrested?” Isa tried to jump up from his chair. If Will had been arrested, and Isa had been sleeping the day away, he’d never forgive himself. He didn’t make it far before tripping over Briar and landing half in his lap.
Briar pulled him the rest of the way in without blinking an eye. “He didn’t get arrested.”
The room was deathly silent for a moment before Alex said, “That was a different couple.”
“Couple? They just met and you’re calling them a couple?” Will was notorious for being picky when it came to choosing new lovers. Not to mention the obvious fact that Alice was a girl, and Will was one hundred percent only interested in dick. But then Alice was trans so maybe she still had one? Not that it was any of Isa’s business what she had in her pants. But the fact remained that Isa was hopelessly confused.
“Maybepartners in crimeis a better title. The front porch is going to be covered in glitter for months because of those two,” Bea said.
“What the heck happened while I was out?” Oh crap. He’d mentioned the thing everyone was being so careful not to ask about.
“Something beautiful.”
“A meeting of kindred souls.”
“Pretty sure they must be married by now.”
“Okay, now you’re just messing with me.” Because Briar’s friends were wonderful people who all needed to be hugged individually.
Once Briar stopped acting like his own personal guard dog.
“Are we?” Bea tapped a finger to her chin and gave a devilish smile.
“Okay, fine, I’ll bite,” Isa said and fished Briar’s phone out of his pocket—his was still in his dorm room as far as he knew—held it up to his boyfriend’s face to unlock it and got to work.
Briar:This is Isa. Did you get married to a girl named Alice?
Answer me! I’m using Briar’s phone
Will:You asshole, you’d better be dead
Texting me like nothing happened. I stg
Like I’d get married
I’m going to slap you the next time I see you
Isa didn’t bother responding. Will tended to spam text. He wasn’t getting any real answers until his friend got it out of his system.
Will:You’d be lucky if I even told you if I got married
But that doesn’t get you out of giving gifts
And they’d better be expensive
Unless you want to tell me how big Briar’s dick is
Then you can come to my wedding
Briar:So thereisgoing to be a wedding???
Will:Don’t you want to know?
