It was anyone’s guess, really.

Whatever the case may be, if Eli managed to make them swap clothes, it would be the best revenge he could get for The Thing He Was Never Ever Going to Think About Again. It would never happen though. They’d probably both go naked before agreeing. But if he could have managed it…Eli thought of Kamakura in Eli’s hoodie and burst out laughing. He would be adorable.

“No, he wouldn’t. He’d look stupid.” Haruka frowned and then said to Kamakura, “You can go now.”

“No, he can’t. I need him to keep people away from you. Far, far away. Kamakura, if anyone comes near Haruka, you have my permission to shock their socks off. In fact, you haveordersto do so. Don’t be shy about it.” After everything they’d gone through with Helios, Eli had allowed Kamakura to add a stun gun to the multiple blades he had ferreted away on his person.

Haruka’s frown faded away at Eli’s show of jealousy.

“Hey guys, what are you up to tonight, because I was thinking—” Alice bounced up to them, talking a mile a minute before she took in the situation.

“Does she count?” Kamakura asked.

“I’m not sure yet.” Eli would wait to see how this played out before he decided if Alice was going to need to be put down for the good of their friendship.

“Count for what?” Nate asked as he came up behind Alice.

“Him too?” Kamakura clarified, reaching toward the holster on his back where he kept his stun gun.

“Nate’s okay. He’s straight.”

Nate’s eyes flicked to Haruka’s stomach. “Yep. So straight…” He looked away, and Eli thought he detected a hint of color to Nate’s ears.

On second thought…

Eli grabbed Kamakura by the arms and maneuvered him in between Haruka and their friends. He was bigger than Eli and would block more of Haruka’s body than Eli would. “You be in the front. I’ll be in the back.” Eli ignored Haruka’s silent laughter and continued, “You two go away.” Then he paused, realizing how mean he was being and added, “Please.”

“I’m not sure if I’m ready to leave yet,” Alice said, craning her neck to look around Kamakura.

Kamakura shifted to block her view. He was such a good murder puppy. Eli almost patted him on the back but stopped when he realized that Haruka wasn’t above being petty and letting Alice see him in all his sex-god glory if Eli made him feel jealous enough.

“Time to go, Alice.” Nate took Alice’s arm and began to steer her in the opposite direction of the Protect Haruka’s Virtue Brigade. “We don’t want to be late for the thing.”

“Thing? I wasn’t aware of a thing, unless—” Alice pulled at Nate’s arm and tried to turn around, likely to say something she’d need to be stunned for.

“It’s vital, Alice. Trust me.” Nate began to drag her away at a brisk pace. Before they disappeared around the corner of a building, Nate gave Eli a salute.

Eli was being stupid and wildly overreacting. He should stop. They’d go home and Haruka would change, and Eli could file this wholeHaruka in a tiny hoodieincident away into the spank bank. This really wasn’t a big deal.

Eli turned to look at Haruka, ready to apologize when…Wait a second. “Are you flexing?” Eli tapped Haruka’s rock-hard stomach with far more force than necessary. “Stop that!”

Haruka didn’t even have the decency to pretend like Eli’s smack hurt. Instead, he smiled angelically.

“That is incredibly unsettling, Yamada-san. Please stop smiling.” Kamakura fingered his stun gun until Eli gave him a Look.

“I’m not flexing.”

“You better not be.” Eli wrapped his arms around Haruka’s bare waist. This was the worst day ever. It wasn’t made any better by the fact that Haruka was having the time of his life. He was even thinking about other items of Eli’s wardrobe he might try and squeeze himself into.

“You keep your hands off my clothes, you great big giganotosaurus. This hoodie is already a lost cause. I’m not letting you ruin anything else of mine.” Or risk other people seeing Haruka’s unclothed anything and gaining him an even larger fanbase than he already had.

“Can you blame me? This is a side of you I’ve never seen before.” Haruka was already slotting this day into his top five best days ever and wasn’t even bothering to hide the thought from Eli.

“And you’re never seeing it again. Don’t make me stick you in the princess tower, jerkface.”

“Good luck with that. I’ve added extra people to my team. We outnumber your side now.”

Eli looked to Kamakura for confirmation and gave him the stink-eye when Kamakura nodded. Eli sighed and said, “Let’s just get home before anything else happens.” Like someone swiping Haruka’s pants when no one was looking. If that happened, Kamakura was forking over his pants no matter what anyone said. And if he was doing that, he might as well give Haruka his shirt too…
