I swallow over and over. Heck. But a yawn escapes, reminding me I’m damn tired, even if I’m having the best day of my life. Done with being a coward, I go for what I want. “Maybe just to sleep?”

This time Milton swallows. “Yeah?”

I nod. It takes me a moment to register that Milton lets me go to unlock the door. His soft hand takes mine again, and he leads me to a door past Rain’s that goes to the upstairs apartment. Neither one of us speaks until we’re on the second floor and Milton flips on the lights.

“Welcome to my home.”

I don’t know what I was expecting, but Milton’s apartment is better than anything my imagination ever conjured up.

A huge plush couch faces a big screen tv. There are so many pillows and blankets it’s almost comical. But it’s the shelves upon shelves of fae books I can’t stop looking at. Some of the spines glow. Others shimmer when I brush them.

“Magic books,” Milton says. “You’re free to look through them… after a nap.” He yawns, causing me to yawn back.

I nod again, too excited for words momentarily. “Would you teach me to read fae? Speak it?”

Milton spins on his heel. “You’d want that?”

“So much.” Especially if Milton’s the one to teach me. “I love learning. But most—no, all—of my education has been from humans. I’d love more supe education.”

“Then I’m just the person to teach you. Can I kiss you again?” Milton’s eyes don’t leave my lips.

He’s so easy to talk to. And kiss. This time we start so soft before we’re pressed into each other, I’m against the wall with Milton’s hands in my hair. My jeans are entirely too tight for comfort right now. His cock is hard against my thigh. I know I’m leaking in my boxer briefs and if we keep going I’ll make a mess.

“We—we…” Milton pulls away from me, his pupils are blown so wide. “Nap.” He takes my hand and leads me through a hallway to a bedroom with a huge king-sized bed.

“You actually make your bed.” I usually let the covers stay however they fall when I crawl myself out of my cocoon of sleep. Milton has a plush yellow comforter and decorative pillows. He’s so put together.

“Not all the time, but I did today.”

My eyelids droop. I don’t really want to nap in jeans. They don’t have the most give. Milton’s at a beautiful cherry wood six drawer dresser and rummages around before passing me a pair of gray basketball shorts. He nods to a door on the far wall.

“Bathroom’s that way. If you wanna change?”

I take him up on the offer. His bathroom is tidy. A single towel with a cute strawberry pattern hangs on a rail. I shimmy off my jeans and slide on the entirely too big shorts. Luckily there’s a drawstring. Not that I make them too much smaller, just enough to stay on my hips.

When I leave the bathroom, Milton’s in a pair of soft gray shorts and a t-shirt.

“We match,” I say.

My heart. Holy hell. If I don’t keel over I’ll be surprised. I’m doing this. Sleeping with another man.

Milton’s eyes roam over me as mine roam over him. We’re both still sporting hard-ons. I’m not sure how to deal with that knowing in a few moments we’ll be in bed together.

I take a deep breath. We move the decorative pillows and slide under the covers. It’s so cozy and the bed smells like Milton.

“I’ve never done anything like this before,” I whisper. “I wasn’t even invited to sleepovers as a kid.”

I stare at the ceiling. My heart is still pounding so hard it almost hurts.

“Take a deep breath, Johnny.” Milton finds my hand and squeezes. “We’re not doing anything you don’t want to do.” Another comforting squeeze. “Sleeping is just fine. I have no expectations.”

“What if Idowant to do something?” Another whisper of course. I’m not even sure what words are coming out of my mouth, but what I do know is I want to kiss Milton again and maybe… maybe something more.

Milton swallows. “Like what?” He stays on his side of the bed, staring at the ceiling the same as me.

“Can we kiss again? I really like kissing you.”

“I’d love that.” Milton’s voice is husky.
