“I really love it here,” Alfie says. “I enjoyed the North Pole for its magic, but there’s something magical in the mundane too.”
“I don’t think it’s mundane when you’re around.” I lean into his warmth. It’s February, and this year we got hit with cold and snow. But it’s the soft fluffy snow that blankets the world in quiet instead of the kind of snow hiding a layer of ice underneath, like other years.
“That’s because I’m magical.” Alfie wiggles his fingers, making sparkling glitter dance in the air. It feels like Christmas time again. Every day feels like Christmas time with Alfie, which makes sense since he is one of Santa’s elves.
“I think it’s more than that. You’re magical for being you, not because you’re an elf.” I believe it, too. “You light up the room with your smiles. I live for your smiles. And the way you help me all the time. I don’t know how I’d pull through this year without you and it’s only February. But I don’t think Pieces of Pisces would be as profitable as it is now without you. You’re a marketing genius. And I know it sounds like I just like you for what you can do for me. But I love helping you too. I love giving you little surprises and making you laugh.”
Alfie blinks, and a tear runs down his cheek. “I don’t think anyone has ever seen me like you do.”
I fake a growl. “And they can’t, okay? You’remine.Myalpha.”
“And you’re my omega.” He scoops me into his arms in a bridal carry, making me squeal.
Alfie pulls two orgasms from me before we pass out. His tongue itself is magic.
In the morning, I get a text from Yolanda asking if she can start her training.
Pisces: I’ll see you at the shop whenever you get here.
I can practically hear her squeal through the phone when she sends me back random letters and symbols. She follows that up with a text telling me she’ll be in after lunch. She said she’d stay at the bank through the lunch rush, then she was done with there.
“I had no idea she wanted to work for me,” I say.
Alfie side-eyes me from across the counter. “She’s here weekly and definitely has I want to bask in the essence of the crystal vibes.”
“Okay, can’t argue with that.”
People mill in and out all day and Yolanda shows up around two.
“I’m ready!” She announces. I give her the biggest hug when she joins me behind the counter.
“You totally got this,” I say.
My set up is easy. Press a couple of buttons and the register does everything. Every product has a code for its product type on its sticker and I have notes for small items. Yolanda picks everything up in about five transactions. I sit back and inventory a few things to make sure she has everything in hand.
“I love being on this side of the counter. Thank you for taking a chance on me.” Yolanda throws her arms around me when it’s time to close up. I run her through the closing procedures and send the deposit with her. “I’ll be here at opening tomorrow to learn what I need to in the mornings.”
“Sounds perfect,” I say.
“I’ll be here with bells on!”
We part ways and I feel like every weight that had ever been placed on me lifts. I have my alpha and I have friends. What more could I want?
Chapter 9
Alfie
Pisces wasright about his heat. It didn’t show up in February. We should just remember omegas know their bodies. It’s mid-March and right now, Pisces moans in his sleep. I’m drenched in his sweat. Harold left the bed to go who knows where, since the scent of Pisces’s heat is so strong.
The scent of his slick fills my senses, making it hard to think rationally. I grab my phone and text Yolanda that she’s on her own, since we won’t be in the next several days. We’re all confident about leaving the shop completely in her capable hands.
“Sweetheart.” I rub a finger over Pisces’s cheek, trying to coax him awake. His cock stands proud.
“Everything’s all achy,” he moans.
“I know, sweetie. Why don’t we get some food in you? At least some water before your first heat wave hits.”
“Too late.” He rolls to his stomach and pushes to his knees. “Need you. Now.”
