The kiss is a salty, bitter mess, and I love it.

“I’m not letting you go tonight,” he whispers against my lips.

Chapter 12

Clay

After our Santa mixer night,Milo and I have seen each other every night. Some we play, others we just cuddle and get to know each other a little more. Explore each other a little more.

Right now, Milo stands in the middle of his apartment with his hands pressed to his hips. “I need a Christmas tree. Or you do. One of us does. We could do a video for our followers. Unless you think it’s weird or they’re getting tired of us?”

I wrap my arms around him from behind. “I think we’re a hit together, don’t you think? And our followers fangirl over us being together.” We’ve been doing little videos and silly collabs together to see how our followers like it and we’ve ended up with thousands more each.

“Probably because you’re both hot,” Rory says behind us. He’s sucking on a candy cane looking innocent. “What? Door was unlocked. I’m used to just walking in when I want.”

Milo snorts and grabs the offered candy.

“Jacob and I need a tree too, but we’re going with fake because getting a tree through the shop and up the stairs without losing a shit ton of needles in the process probably isn’t happening.” He points to me with his candy cane. “You two, however, need a real one. One that smells like Christmas. AndI’ll video you together being all cute picking out a tree, then styling it. Because omg you two will have the prettiest tree ever and your followers need to see it.”

“I don’t have any ornaments,” Milo says.

I shrug. “I have some glittery plastic balls in one of my boxes in the spare bedroom.”

Rory turns on the spot and marches to the door. “Show me these ornaments.”

Milo snorts again. “Always taking charge.”

“Only when I need to.” Rory marches and uses his candy cane as if it’s a conductor’s wand.

I grab the box, and Rory opens it to examine my offerings.

“These will do nicely.”

“I’m glad you approve,” Milo says. He looks to me. “Tree?”

“I’ll get you ten trees if you want.”

“Just the one, please and thank you.” He bats his lashes so sweetly. And that’s how I end up half an hour out of the way at a tree farm.

Milo and Rory play off each other’s energy and they’re both adorable.

“Oh, what about this one?” Rory pulls Milo to one line of trees, then Milo pulls Rory to another. I video them, laughing at their antics.

Milo gasps halfway down one of the lanes and runs around a tree. “This one! This is the one! It’s not too tall or too wide. I think it’ll be perfect.” His eyes are so wide and he fluffs up the limbs. “Yes. What do you think?”

Rory steals my phone and I can’t take my eyes off Milo as he plays with the limbs.

“It just really clicked in place, didn’t it?” Rory asks me so quietly I wonder if he caught the words on video. “You’re in love.”

I just nod, and he taps his nose. I’m so lost for Milo. I can imagine a future and forever with this man.

“Milo’s an easy guy to love. I’m glad to call him one of my besties.”

Milo grins at me, and I can’t help it. My feet move of their own accord and I pull him into a kiss. He melts against me and I deepen the kiss, not even caring if Rory’s filming us or not. I just need to pour all my love into Milo.

“I love you, Milo,” I whisper against him. “I know it’s fast, but I don’t care. I just needed you to know.” I need him to know with my entire being that he has me, body, mind, and soul.

He leans against me. “I love you, too, Clay.”
