His voice was low as he ordered, “Open up for me, Robin.”

She let her knees fall apart, inviting him to touch her as much as he wanted.

He teased her gently, circling the sensitive bud without touching it directly. Robin’s hands tightened on his legs, and she began to push her hips back toward him in a steady rhythm. “More,” she whispered. “Please.”

Tav kissed her neck, and then she felt the pressure of his finger entering her body.

“You still want this?” he asked.

“Yes!”

“Good.” He continued that steady in and out, using her body’s slick heat to make her squirm with need.

“More,” Robin begged, even though she loved the way he took his time.

“More,” he promised. The pressure grew. She craved his attention, and her hips rose to meet his hand. When his thumb rubbed slowly against the nub above her center, in a counterpoint to the thrusting of his fingers, she knew she was going to lose herself. She needed his touch to feel complete.

“Tav,” she murmured, feeling a little desperate. “That feels so good. It feels…”

She arched her back just as the orgasm broke over her. He slid his free hand over her mouth, and she bit down, stifling her moan, which otherwise would have woken half the castle. Her whole body shook in the aftermath of the sensation.

Then he held her tightly with one arm around her shoulders, even as his fingers kept tormenting her gently, drawing out the exquisite shock that left her so weak. He murmured, “So that’s one way I can enjoy you in a bed without actually coupling.”

He withdrew his hand and laid it on her stomach.

“No,Ienjoyed it,” she corrected. “You just…made me enjoy it.”

“Mmm, no. I enjoyed it as well. Hearing you, seeing you react to my touch…it’s like nothing else.”

“You want more though,” she guessed, feeling the hard length of him under her body.

“Iwantmore,” he said, “but the point was to show you that it’s not about what I want. Or what any man wants.”

“So we’ve enjoyed each other and there’s nothing more to it?”

He sighed. “Of course there’s more to it. But I don’t want to think about that now. Just enjoy the night. Please.”

He shifted to lie beside her, one hand roaming over her skin, from her shoulder to her thigh and over her back. His touch made her happy and drowsy at once.

She curled up on him and closed her eyes, drifting in and out of sleep. The fire flickered against the walls and she sighed as she felt Tav’s touch on her back and on her arms, and his fingers in her hair.

A while later, he nudged her. “Robin. Wake up.”

She blinked, and saw the fire had died to embers. “I need to get to my room before morning!”

“Sadly, yes. I’ll take you back.”

“No!” she said, alarmed. “If I’m going to be sneaking around at night, let them think Pierce is the reason for it, not you. I’ll go alone.”

“You’re sure?” he asked, obviously concerned.

“I’m sure.” Robin knew he’d take her the whole way, but she didn’t want to sully his reputation along with her own.

He slid out of the bed and helped her dress, his hands skimming her body as he pulled the gown over her head.

“No lacing this time,” he said quietly. “You’ll just have to endure it until you get back to your room.”

“I hate the lacing,” she said. “It’s far too tight.”
