She stroked him, her eyes locked on his face. “I think you want me.”

Tav couldn’t stop a laugh, even though it wasn’t funny. God, yes, he wanted her. “You have no idea,” he managed to say.

“I want you,” she told him, her voice soft but unwavering. “I want to feel you inside me.”

“Robin—”

But she went on, “When I wasn’t sure if you were alive or dead, I couldn’t stop thinking that I might never know how it would be to truly be with you. A very worldly, sinful regret, I know.”

“I had the same regret,” he confessed. There was nothing like getting sharp blades pointed at one’s belly to make a person reflect on what he truly desired in life. Namely, to live, and to prove just how alive he was by coming inside the woman he loved.

“Then it’s what we both want,” she breathed. “Please, Tav. Don’t deny me.”

She meant it. He knew that by how she guided him right to her center, and how ready she felt when she teased the tip of him with her body.

He was done with denial. He braced himself on his good arm, slid one hand to her hip, and thrust once.

This was it. This was home. She was home. He had never felt so complete before.

When he entered her, Robin let out a huge breath and then lay perfectly still for a moment. He worried he’d hurt her. But then she slipped her arms around him, her hands spread out on his back.

She brought her mouth to his ear, and he heard a whispered command to keep going.

Tav never needed an instruction less.

He shifted slightly and pushed farther into her. She arched her back and raised her hips in a way that made him want to howl.

He grasped her left hip hard, keeping her still. “Robin. If you move like that again, you’ll finish me.”

“How should I move, then?” she asked, her eyes both innocent and mischievous.

“Don’t move at all,” he ordered. “Just feeling you like this is all I can take. Feeling how…tight you are.” He closed his eyes. “Don’t move.”

She obeyed, stilling beneath him, her body hot and wonderfully soft inside and out.

“How do you feel?” he asked. “Any pain?”

“None. Just…” She couldn’t stop from shifting her hips. “Just need.”

He groaned when she moved. “Need for me.” He withdrew a little, then returned.

Robin gasped, her eyes widening.“Yes.”

He repeated the move, drawing another yes from her. And another.

“Tav,” she said desperately. “I think you’re driving me mad.”

He liked that. Slipping one hand to her backside, he lifted her hips up, pulling her to him as he thrust. He didn’t go fast, but he let her feel every inch of him as he slid in and out of her, filling her with an increasing frenzy of need. Far from easing her tension, he stoked it, keeping his eyes on hers the whole time.

Robin’s breath came in half gasps, and then she whimpered his name. Tav cupped the back of her head with one hand, bringing her mouth to his shoulder. She bit down on his body to keep from making any more noise as she came undone.

He felt her whole body shudder and knew he couldn’t hold back any longer. He needed to join her wherever she was.

Tav was so close to coming, he wanted to scream, but Robin raised her hand to his mouth, knowing what he needed. He caught the heel of her hand between his teeth, stifling the shout. Then he moaned, his eyes closing as he lost himself in her.

“You’re what I want,” he swore, and then pushed into her as he came. He spent himself and reveled in how blissful she looked. “Robin,” he said, breathing hard, his body stunned from the intensity of being inside her at last.

He recovered slowly, not entirely sure what had just happened was real. Robin lay beneath him, her eyes closed but with a smile on her lips as she slowly rocked her hips against his.Oh.That’s why he felt like he was still coming. She was using her body to draw out the pleasure, a slow pulse that he’d happily enjoy for hours, if only he could stay awake that long. Then again, if they slept for a little while, he could recover and then take her again, showing her just how much he wanted her.
