Like he’d ever tell her no. After a few minutes of intense, blinding bliss, Gabe put his hand to her head. “Stop, please. I’ve got other plans for you.”
She gave one last flick of her tongue against the tip of him, but then stood up. “Tell me how you want me.”
God, the way she said it.
He grabbed her and lifted her, loving how she clung to him, wrapping her legs around his waist. He pressed her hard against the wall, kissing the exposed skin of her chest, then dragging his teeth across her neck, then sucking on her earlobe. Cady leaned her head back, her eyes closed and her face rapt with pleasure.
Gabe glanced down. There was something about seeing a woman’s silk stockings still on, the gentle curve of her calves beneath the fabric looking so perfect, and then feeling so smooth beneath his hands.
She put her arms around his shoulders, her hand curling around the back of his neck. “Don’t wait, Gabe. I want to be everything for you.”
Sliding into her slick heat felt so good he nearly came right then. Cady started to cry out as he entered her, and he put the heel of his hand into her mouth to give her something to bite down on.
She made a little muffled sound that had him thrusting deep within her, aroused to the point of pain.
Cady released his hand from her mouth, only to whisper in a ragged tone, “How do you know just what I love? I’ve never needed anything like this before.”
“Will you tell me when you come?”
“Watch me and I won’t have to,” she whispered.
He did love watching her, seeing how her mouth opened and her chest heaved, how her eyes grew big and soft, hazed with passion.
Against his inclination, he moved slower and slower, enjoying Cady’s soundless protests and the way her nails raked across his back.
“Ready, love?” he whispered.
“Gabe. Please.” Her mouth was hot on his shoulder when he changed his rhythm, suddenly harder, faster.
She tightened around him, convulsing as she reached her orgasm. There was no way he was stopping now. His balls tightened up, and he rode the crest of her orgasm to his own.
When he came, Cady held him close and kept him from shouting everything he needed for the whole world to hear. Instead, he bit her shoulder as she clung to him, murmuring a string of wonderful nonsense about how she was so happy and she adored him and she would never forget how special he made her feel. He wanted to believe it, but he spent too many years saying much the same things to women he was seducing as part of an assignment. He’d trained himself not to believe anything.
But God, he wanted those things to be true. As he came down from his peak, he laid his forehead in the curve of her neck and shoulder, eyes closed.
She kissed him softly, then whispered, “You could put me down now. Just a suggestion.”
A laugh broke free, keeping Gabe from getting too serious, or saying something he shouldn’t. “Only because I have to.”
Moments later, Cady was standing in front of a mirror, restoring her hair and outfit to their pre-tryst state. The heightened color in her cheeks was all that suggested her recent activity.
“How did you know this room would be empty?” she asked, shooting him a curious glance via the mirror.
“I didn’t,” he admitted.
Her brown eyes widened. “What was the excuse going to be if someone was in here and saw us together?”
“I’d have thought of something.”
“Mr Courtenay, you are being very cavalier with my reputation. And in your brother’s own home, how shocking.” Her teasing tone warmed him, because he loved how open and confident she’d become. But there was a cold fog underneath it—he was playing very dangerously. Telling himself that he’d solve any problems that came up, rather than doing the right thing and simply walking away from her. As an agent, Gabe got what he needed from Cady regarding the poison. Yet here he was, finding reasons to keep her close, to be with her, risking her reputation.
Christ, no wonder he was alone. He was a terrible person.
Chapter 32
Cady nodded when Gabe toldher that he’d leave the room first. She was to wait ten minutes and then leave on her own. If anyone questioned her, she was to explain that she had lost her way while in search of the ladies’ retiring room.
“With the amount of alcohol flowing at this party, no one will question it,” Gabe assured her. “I’ll see you tomorrow.”
