He groaned. “No, although the way I’m feeling, I’d only need a few minutes, with the way you fucking look right now. Jesus. Babe, you look like a fucking wet dream, and I love you so much that I can’t let us miss our date, or believe me, I’d be stripping you right now, to lick every inch of your body.”
Oh god. Yes, that’s what I want more than anything.Right now.
“Do it,” I whispered in his ear, nipping at his lobe, and smiling when another groan uttered from his throat.
“Fuck! You’ll pay for this, babe. For hours. Until you scream yourself hoarse, but right now, we do have to go.”
He led me out of the house, grumbling under his breath the whole time, and the only words I picked up were ‘fucking hot’ and ‘fuck her so hard’, so I got the gist.
“Hold on tight, babe, I need to feel as much of you pressed up against me as possible,” Micro murmured, as he helped me onto his bike behind him, and pulled my arms around him.
It still gave me a thrill every time he took me out on his motorbike, because it was like nothing else in the world. There was something powerful about being on a two wheeled vehicle that had to lean and move with the road, which felt far more intense than I could have imagined, all while knowing that I was wrapped around the man I loved, the man who’d been resurrected from the ashes, much like his former club, and this new one.
I thought he’d be taking me to the club, but instead he pulled up outside the most unexpected place, in the small town nearest to the club.
“What’s going on?” I asked him as he helped me off the bike, and lifted my helmet off.
He grinned widely, smoothing his hands down over his cut, which he was wearing over a black shirt, and with black leather jeans.
“We’re getting married, baby. Right now.”
What? I’d been letting him lead me in the direction of that nondescript building, but I stopped, and tugged my hand away from him.
“Wait! We’re getting married right now?”
He frowned, reaching for my hand again.
“Yeah, I know it’s kinda sudden, although we’ve been talking about it, and we got all the paperwork in order. I just… I can’t wait any longer to be your man, and we can’t make you my old lady yet, because we have to wait for the patchover.”
I loved him for this gesture, but I also wished I’d had time to be involved in planning it. Not because I wanted to make a big deal of it, but because I’d wanted to have my sister there, and my mum and stepdad, and now they’d miss my big day.
Micro cupped my face in his palms, and kissed my nose. He really couldn’t be a sweeter man, and I would always wonder what I did to deserve being chosen by him. To be his.
“Soph, have I ever let you down?”
I sighed, shaking my head regretfully.
“I don’t mean to be weird, Micro. I love you for making this happen, I really do. I just wish-”
“They’re waiting inside for us, babe. I know you want your family at your wedding, and they’re here.”
What?
He laughed, kissing my lips gently.
“Let’s go show them how fucking hot we look in leathers, baby. Let’s go let you make an honest man of me,” then he shuddered, “well, as honest as a biker asshole can be.”
Micro
Megettingmarried.Who’dhave thought it, right? I was the fuckup, the asshole, the monster. I was the one least likely to deserve a happy ending, and yet here it was. My happy ending.Her. The one fucking woman in the world who’d have given a prick like me a chance. She brought me back to life, and she helped me find the man I should have become, the man that little boy wanted to be, before his mind and soul were twisted by an animal, and he went dark instead.
After a tearful greeting with her family, who’d grudgingly accepted me as her guy, apart from her sister, who’d already decided I was ‘the shit’ back when I rescued her, we were ready to say our vows.
With me was Harley, as my best man, and Grease, the mafia bastard, as a second witness. There was a gaping hole where my former Phoenix brothers should have been. This should have been a proper biker wedding, surrounded by my old family, with Torch beside me as my best man, but some bridges just couldn’t be resurrected after they went down in flames, and I’d have to live with that, because my own actions had severed those connections.
Lissa had wanted to be here, but Ice had vehemently denied letting her be around me in person yet, and Reacher had agreed. It would have been nice to have my one, and only, family member here, to see my wedding to my beautiful Sophie, but again, that was my fault, and nobody else’s.
As we stood before the registrar to say our vows, Grease hissed at me to get my attention, and I turned to glare at him, but what he was holding struck me silent.
