She nipped at his rump, making him chase her as they ran off toward the trees.

He would forever chase her. That would never change.

Chapter Fourteen

“LOOK AT US, all basking naked in the hot tub,” Amos said.

“Don’t say basking!” Misty snapped.

“It’s weird, right?” Penny asked.

“Yeah, it’s weird,” Joaquin answered.

“That I said basking or that we’re all naked in bubbly water? Ahh, must be the naked thing.”

The rest mumbled an agreement. Okay, then, it was probably the only thing they all agreed on.

“At least you’re dressed,” Alex said to Penny.

“I thought it would be weird to be sitting in here naked by myself while you were all out running hairy.”

Caitlin snorted.

Next to her, Missy giggled. “Is she going to call it that from now on? Running hairy?”

“God, I hope not. Makes me want to shave my legs.”

Under the bubbly water, someone ran his hand up her leg. She sucked in a breath and turned her head toward Isaac. His sultry, heavy-lidded gaze left no doubt as to whose hand it was. And whoo boy, that open thigh of hers wanted to inch toward Isaac a little more.

“Earth to Caitlin,” Penny called, and next to her, Misty giggled.

“Um, yes?” she drawled, turning her attention from the sexy man beside her back to the girls.

“Dad’s giving his final speech for the year. My phone’s been ringing off the hook with reporters wanting to know if you’ve survived. The rental has had them camping out, hoping to have a clue as to where we’ve gone. Rumor has it that Dad has requested no questions afterward, because he’s so emotional over his missing daughters.”

“Missing? He’s known where you were all along, right?” Because their father had phone tracking apps on both of them. In fact, she’d figured Penny had forgotten. That was how she’d found her, after all.

Tapping into Dad’s app.

“So, before the reporters get wind of it, if you want to give Dad a head’s up that you’re up and conscious—”

“I don’t see the point.”

Everyone grew quiet.

Penny nodded. “I get it, sis.”

Misty clapped her hands together. “So, when are we putting up that Christmas tree?”

“We can cut one down next week,” Noah said. “Make a party of it.”

“As long as we get it done before Christmas,” Joaquin mentioned.

“Remember that first year when we used a bush because Misty made us?”

“Because all you animals were going to skip it.”

“She civilized us.” Joaquin cupped the back of her neck with his hand, but she scooted away.
