He grasped my hair and gently pulled back my head, so I looked at his face. “Tell me.”

My vision cleared of the aroused haze that had over taken me and I saw his lust-filled eyes. Moreso, I saw the pain ravaging his features. Pain from me running.

“I won’t leave you.”

“No. You won’t. You need more than me, I’ll make sure you have it.”

“You make it sound like my heart doesn’t beat for you—it does. But would it ever be enough for you to just be my lover—”

“Yourhusband.”

“—and nothing besides that,” I continued, placing my fingers over his lips. “To have nothing fulfilling to occupy you?”

He nipped at the fingertips.

“You said you love me but you left,” he accused.

“I do. I do love you. But I couldn’t be useless anymore, Valariy. I was a victim for so long. I had to fight for more. I couldn’t be weak and just let circumstances happen to me and say ‘oh well, this is my life now.’”

“Moya kokhána, no one could go through what you have and fight like you do and be weak! You’re a warrior. You’ve been through hell and didn’t let it break you. You’re my queen and to be that you must be strong—”

“I’m not arm candy.”

Leaning down, he circled my nipple with his tongue then moved to suck at the other. “You taste like candy to me.”

A moment later, I was on my back under him. I pulled at his shirt, needing him naked, too.

“Are you angry at me?” I whispered.

“So angry,” he breathed.

I cupped his cheek. “I’m sorry. I know it won’t make it better, but I’ve been miserable without you. I started to call you so many times.”

“Why didn’t you?”

“I don’t have your number.”

Grabbing the hand I’d been tracing over his pecs, he sucked on the inside of my wrist. I trembled, arching into him.

“I’m going to tattoo it on you,” he growled. “Or…” He nipped at my collar bone, put a tracker in you right here.”

“Like a dog!” I exclaimed.

“Like my men and my brothers and me.” He brought my fingers to the tiny bump on his own collar bone.

“That’s a tracker.”

“A security measure. A good way to find runaway wives.” He smirked, but I was distracted by him shoving down his pants. We were skin to skin and I parted my legs, cradling him between then, feeling his hard length against my center.

“You won’t need it. I told you; I’ll stay. I love you, and I wanted to stay at your side, but… But I felt worthless.”

“You’ve never been worthless. You’re my queen. My treasure.” He adjusted his tip and slid deep. We moaned together. Home. We were home. He was my White Rabbit and my Wonderland and and my… Mine. He was mine and I was his.

“And I love you, too,” he said on a long, deep stroke. “Since the moment I saw you, there in that hospital bed, you’ve made my heart beat,Moya kokhána. I’ve been dead without you.”

“Valariy…”

“I love you, Brecklyn,” he repeated, increasing his pace inside me. I moved with him, searching for the bliss only he could give me. We were frantic, desperate. I clung to him taking everything he gave and giving everything he wanted. How could I have thought I could be without him? With him here, I felt like I could breathe fully for the first time in months.
