“It’s not a him. It’s a her,” Cooper says.

“Gah, fuck me,” I huff. “Where is she? Let’s get this over with.”

I roll my eyes, wondering what Sean or Theo has done this time. Those two are hell-bent on running this place into theground. The drugs, the drinking, the gambling, it’s a wonder the place hasn’t folded under them.

I can’t even pretend to want Sean at this point. Shit, he doesn’t pretend to want me either. Not since I found him fucking some chick in my place.

I should have let him OD that one time when he trashed my place. After all I did for him, he turned around and fucked some chick right in my bed and fell asleep like the place was his and it was normal for him to have some shank in my bed.

To be honest, I knew in my gut it wasn’t the first time. I put his bum ass out and changed my locks. By then, Lily had already hired me to be her second-in-command here at the gym.

I’ve been running this place since she asked for my help. I’ve been helping her keep the doors open and covering her reject dad and brother’s asses when trouble comes knocking.

Sean’s drug problems are his own. His stupid ass will end up dead soon anyway. Between the drugs and gambling like his dad, his days are numbered.

“Oh, hello. I thought I would find Theo or Sean Young. Do ya know when they’ll be in?” The redhead asks as she steps into the office.

I sit back in my seat and steeple my fingers in front of my lips. “You asked for someone in charge. That’s me. How can I help you?”

“This is Raising Young gym, right?”

“Yes, it is.”

“Amy, those checks ready?” Sean walks into my office as if he owns the place.

I roll my eyes. It’s not even payday and his ass doesn’t do enough to earn the check he gets if you ask me. He barely shows up to train his clients.

“It’s Tuesday, not Friday,” I grunt.

“Well, I need you to write a check for me today. I have shit to do.”

“Whatever,” I mumble.

“And who do we have here?” he purrs to the redhead.

The twinkle in her eyes causes me to need to hold back the bile that rises in my throat. I will never understand why women throw themselves at him. Sean was once attractive to me, but he’s still an asshole.

You can pretty much figure that out before he opens his mouth. With all the steroids and coke, he looks a fuck fright these days. I narrow my gaze at her as something about her profile nags at my brain.

“I’m Cadlha. And ya are?”

“Oh, love the accent, sweetheart. I’m Sean Young. It’s very nice to meet you,” he says.

“Oh. Yer just the man I came to see. Is there somewhere we can go and talk? I have some information I think ya might be interested in.”

“Is that right?”

“Does the name Ciara Walsh or Cee-Cee Young ring a bell?”

My hackles go up and warning bells ring in my head. Everything clicks into place, and I know exactly where I’ve seen this chick before.

“Fuck yeah. Do you know where I can find her?”

“I might. That is, if ya can help me. Like I said, we should go somewhere to talk.”

“Right this way, gorgeous,” he croons. “I’m going to need that check before I leave, Amy.”

Asshole.
