Frowning, I spun so I was facing Grace. She kept her arms around me, though she loosened them slightly so I could breathe again.
Peering down, I studied her face. I’d gotten to know Grace well enough to tell when she was keeping a secret. Right now she had the same look on her face that she did whenever her and Levi returned from a quickie. We lived together. There was only so much discreetness you could have.
“Has Riley said something to you, Hughesy?”
Grace pulled her lip between her teeth. “Just talk to her.”
I’d tried. Actually, that was a lie. All our conversations since forcefully being reunited had been surface-level. Would bringing up mine and Riley’s raw past change things? I’d always treated it like it was a taboo subject, but maybe being honest would help. Maybe it’d chip away at some of the hostility that had built-up between us.
“Um. Morning?”
Levi appeared in the doorway, shirtless and looking confused as hell.
“Morning,” Grace returned, her arms still wound around me. “Will and I kissed and made up.”
“What?”
If Grace wasn’t between us, I expected the glass clutched in Levi’s hand would be making a beeline for my head.
“Figure of speech, Holloway.” Grace rolled her eyes at the instant fury that radiated off her boyfriend. Peering back at me, she smiled softly then patted my chest. “Don’t be a galah, Caufield.”
I didn’t know the exact Aussie translation, but I believe that was Grace telling me to man up and talk to Riley.

Practice was monumentally better this morning. I’d barely noticed the difficulty of the continuous suicides, unlike all the freshmen who were still grumbling despite practice having ended ten minutes ago.
Picking up my towel I walked to the showers. They were much busier than they had been yesterday. As I passed the shower Riley had been on her knees in, my dick twitched. These showers would never be the same again.
Afterwards when I was getting dressed in front of my stall, the team’s head trainer ambled over.
“Caufield. I want to come with you to your next session with Riley. When is it?”
“Um.” I checked the time on my phone. “In fifteen minutes.”
Maybe that’s why the suicides had been bearable this morning. Knowing I’d see Riley soon. I’d ventured into dangerous territory, but that tended to happen when she was involved.
Richard nodded his understanding. “Grab me before you head over.”
Once he walked off, I took out my phone and sent Riley a warning text.
WILL:Head’s up. Richard’s coming with me today.
Her reply came back straightaway.
RILEY:Okay. I won’t tape your shoulder then. I can do that Wednesday.
WILL:What’s happening Wednesday? Thought our next session was Friday morning. ;)
RILEY:Don’t make me take back my offer, Caufield.
WILL:You wouldn’t dare. You’re getting as much out of this deal as me.
RILEY:How so? My running game is fine.
WILL:You wouldn’t have agreed to my offer if you didn’t get endless orgasms in exchange.
WILL:Speaking of, how should I fuck you on Wednesday?
